What to Expect at Chamber Night at kidscommons Business After Hours at kidscommons will give Chamber Members and their families exclusive after-hours access to explore the museum, connect with fellow professionals, and experience firsthand how playful learning strengthens our community. During the evening, guests will enjoy: Live Educational Pop-Up Programs Two of our trained teen educators will lead short, interactive mini-programs throughout the night. These hands-on activities will align with our current monthly theme, Earth Explorers, offering engaging STEM-based experiences focused on environmental discovery and caring for our planet. These programs also showcase how kidscommons develops leadership skills in local teens while delivering high-quality educational experiences for children. Community Impact & Sponsorship Opportunities with Taylen Lane Our Development Officer, Taylen Lane, will host an outreach table to share information about corporate partnerships, exhibit sponsorships, and ways businesses can support access to playful learning across our region. Chamber members can explore how their organization can align with kidscommons as a strategic community partner. Exclusive After-Hours Exhibit Access Members and their families will have private access to explore the exhibits together in a relaxed setting - proving that Chamber networking can be both productive and playful. This special evening highlights kidscommons as both a vibrant family destination and a strong community partner investing in education, workforce development, and the next generation.

Taking Care of Business

Taking Care of Business is a hands-on workshop series designed for business owners who have been operating 1–5 years and are ready to strengthen their foundation and grow with confidence. These half-day, in-person workshops are built for action, not lectures. Each session gives participants real tools, guided work time, and practical takeaways they can immediately implement into their businesses. The series is intentionally progressive, with every workshop building on the one before it so attendees gain clarity, structure, and momentum throughout the year. Space is limited to 20 participants to keep the experience interactive, focused, and personalized. Business 101 Session 1 is all about building a strong, confident foundation for your business. In this workshop, you’ll step back from the day-to-day hustle and focus on the core elements that keep a business stable, legal, and financially healthy. Participants will work hands-on to create or refine their business plan using a practical Lean Canvas model, learn how to become “bankable,” and better understand the financial side of running a business. Local experts will guide you through essential topics like licensing, permits, insurance, taxes, and basic financial management—areas that are often confusing or overlooked by growing businesses. This isn’t theory. You’ll leave with completed worksheets, checklists, and clear next steps tailored to your own business. What you’ll walk away with: A working Lean Canvas business plan A clearer understanding of required licenses and insurance A starter P&L worksheet A checklist of financial and legal action items Direct connections to local business resources What’s Next in the Series Session 2 focuses on using AI tools to save time and streamline daily business tasks. Session 3 helps you clarify your brand, audience, and marketing message. Session 4 turns marketing strategy into action with content planning and scheduling.
