Goshen Theater and the Elkhart County Symphony are once again collaborating on an In concert production!   Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun will feature regional vocalists performing with the symphony, directed by Victoria Petrak. Marilyn Mason will music direct and Adrienne Nesbitt will produce.   The production will be presented Oct. 5 at 4:00 p.m.   Those interested in auditioning should prepare 32 bars to sing. They will also be taught a song from the show to learn!   Please bring any conflicts between Aug. 21-Oct. 5.

Join us at Goshen Public Library for two fun sessions of Writing From Memories with Yvonne Ransel – much easier than writing a Memoir. We will get nostalgic about childhood, holidays, high school, travel and any other memories you would like to share. You will even be given your own special new notebook to begin this fun little journey and share, if you wish, a memory or two the second session. Be pleasantly surprised by the satisfaction of putting your humorous or even sad memories on paper. Click here to register. Yvonne Ransel is a Midwest writer of essays — some humorous, some poignant — who is inspired by life’s crazy, everyday events. She was a librarian, then a bar owner, now a librarian again. She survived the ’60s, the millennium and the years since as wife, mother and now grandmother of six. She lives on the beautiful St. Joseph River in northern Indiana after graduating from Miami University of Ohio – a college established before Florida was a state – and earning her MLS at Indiana University. She is a contributor to four anthologies – Feisty After 45, Laugh Out Loud, Fast Fierce Women and Angel Bumps: Heartstrings from Heaven- and writes a monthly essay for her hometown newspaper, the Elkhart Truth.

Come Ride-A-Bike and make lasting memories alongside your neighbors with disabilities during ADEC’s largest fundraising event, presented by Thor Industries, Welch Packaging, and Froggy 102.7!   This year’s event will feature bike rides ranging from 1 to 50 miles in length, walking paths, games, prizes, food trucks, and live music from Froggy 102.7—plus plenty of fun activities for all ages! Whether you choose to ride, walk, run, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation directly supports the individuals we serve at ADEC.   For nearly five decades, the community has partnered with ADEC to support individuals with disabilities during the cherished tradition of Ride-A-Bike by participating, fundraising, and volunteering. Musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels will come together on the morning of August 23rd to be assigned to collaborative bands and practice locations in downtown Goshen. Throughout the day, these newly formed groups will write and rehearse original songs. Goshen Art House’s mission is to foster accessible, creative opportunities for artists, and celebrate artistic expression. The event encourages connection, experimentation, and the joy of making music together. On the evening of the 23rd, a showcase will be held at the historic Goshen Theater, where each band will present their freshly crafted work up on stage. Attendees will participate in a live vote to determine the BYOB Fest winning band! EVENING SHOWCASE: Box office opens at 7pm EST, doors open @ 7:30pm EST Tickets available online and at the door (to be posted soon) Bar and concessions available All ages event: musicians have creative freedom and may elect to incorporate content that is not appropriate for all ages.
