The 47th Annual Mid-America Bonsai Exhibition is sponsored by the Midwest Bonsai Society: one of the largest regional shows in the nation centered at the Chicago Botanic Garden's Permanent Collection. Features over 80 world-class trees from across the Midwest and beyond. Trees will be judge by Bonsai Professional, Jonas Dupuich, in Nichols Hall at the Garden's Regenstein Center. Courtyards will have over 30 vendors selling 1000's of trees, tools, pots, stands, scrolls, soil/fertilizers, etc.  There are demonstrations, workshops, bonsai tour, tree raffle and Society gear available.

All concerts are FREE to the public and start at 6pm. Concerts at Woodland Park Oakwood Hall are made possible by grants from John W. Anderson Foundation and Porter County Community Foundation, by facilities provided by Portage Park Dept. and from donations by local residents and Portage Chamber business members. Bring the whole family and enjoy the music … and dance if you feel like it! Tuesday night concerts are a collection site for donations to Portage Food Pantry and Gabriel’s Horn Shelter. Don't miss out on our WEEKDAY HHW Collection this September!!  Please enter through Gate 3.  Proper disposal of hazardous waste is crucial to protecting public health and preserving the environment. Hazardous waste often includes materials that are flammable, corrosive, reactive, or toxic. Examples include cleaning supplies, oils, chemicals, and fertilizers, which can pose significant risks if not handled correctly. We don't want these items in our waterways!! It's important not to dispose of these items in regular trash bins or down drains, as they can contaminate water sources and harm wildlife. Porter County Residents are welcome to come to our FREE collection events to dispose of your hazardous waste. Check out portercountyrecycling.org to find the full list of accepted items.
