Wolffgang – Hobart High School Girl's Vocal Group Portage Township Live Entertainment, Portage Chamber of Commerce and City of Portage announce the PORTAGE SUMMER MUSIC SERIES to be presented RAIN OR SHINE during JUNE, JULY, & AUGUST IN 2025 with CONCERTS performed at Portage’s WOODLAND PARK. All concerts are FREE to the public and start at 6pm. Concerts at Woodland Park Oakwood Hall are made possible by grants from John W. Anderson Foundation and Porter County Community Foundation, by facilities provided by Portage Park Dept. and from donations by local residents and Portage Chamber business members. Bring the whole family and enjoy the music … and dance if you feel like it! For more information, contact the Portage Chamber of Commerce 762-3300 or Portage Park Dept. 762-1675 or visit www.portagelive.org or www.portagelife.com (click on “Entertainment” then “Events”). Tuesday night concerts are a collection site for donations to Portage Food Pantry and Gabriel’s Horn Shelter. Feel free to bring canned goods, nonperishable boxed food items, paper goods, toothpaste, toothbrushes, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, hygiene items, etc., or cash donations.  

Portage Library Garden Seating is not provided --- Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket!

Howdy Porter County!! Let's protect our local environment by properly disposing of our Household Hazardous Waste at our next collection event on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 from 9am-2pm at Boone Grove High School.   Please enter at 500W.   Proper disposal of hazardous waste is crucial to protecting public health and preserving the environment. Hazardous waste often includes materials that are flammable, corrosive, reactive, or toxic.   Examples include cleaning supplies, oils, chemicals, and fertilizers, which can pose significant risks if not handled correctly.   It's important not to dispose of these items in regular trash bins or down drains, as they can contaminate water sources and harm wildlife.   Porter County Residents are welcome to come to our FREE collection events to dispose of your hazardous waste.   Check out portercountyrecycling.org to find the full list of accepted items.

This one day a year self-guided garden walk is the oldest in the country, and features some of the most beautiful and unique private gardens in Chicago. The North Dearborn Association's 65th Dearborn Garden Walk has over 15 private gardens in the heart of Chicago's Near North and Gold Coast neighborhoods. These gracious garden owners open their gates for one day only to reveal the unique art of urban gardening. The event also includes a hugely popular guided architecture tour of North Dearborn Street that features architecture, history and local folklore. An additional bonus as you stroll to each private garden are the elegant and stunning front gardens to view along your route.
