Herbert L. Taylor Woods Preserve Field Trip Saturday, November 22, 9:30 a.m. 5972 E Eel River Rd, North Manchester, IN 46962  (Please note: This address is for an adjacent home, which is not in the preserve; to get to the preserve parking, turn left (west)  before entering the home area and stay on the left (south) side of the fenceline.  Parking is at the end of the lane.)   This visit to TAS's first wildlife sanctuary comes at an opportune time of year for early wildflowers and spring migrants.  The preserve is a narrow triangle along the Eel River with some elevation changes on unpaved trails.  Despite the 11-acre size of the preserve, the trail is almost a mile long. Christmas Bird Count Kosciusko County   Saturday, December 27 2025, dawn to dusk Tippecanoe Audubon Society will contribute to National Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count. In its 125th year, this is the longest running citizen science project in the world. The area of our count is a 7.5-mile radius circle in Kosciusko County, centered on Oswego (north of Warsaw). Most counting is done by moving around the area by car or on foot. You need not go out for the full day, even part of a day contributes to the effort. It is also possible to count birds at a feeder from the comfort of home if you live within the count circle. Participation is free and open to anyone who is interested, but you must coordinate in advance with the compiler: Dave Hicks at (260) 982-2471, [email protected]
