Are you ready for a new canning season? Do you have everything prepared and tested? Indianola Parks & Recreation in partnership with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Warren County is offering pressure canner gauge testing. Gauges should be checked annually for accuracy before each canning season. Testing is quick, easy, and only takes a couple of minutes. Drop in to the Indianola Activity Center for free testing. Plan to have lots of fun this summer while you learn about fire and the job of a firefighter in this course offered by members of the Indianola Fire Department. Discover how hard it is to escape to safety in the smoke house fire safety trailer. Learn how to douse flames......More

Plan to have lots of fun this summer while you learn about fire and the job of a firefighter in this course offered by members of the Indianola Fire Department. Discover how hard it is to escape to safety in the smoke house fire safety trailer. Learn how to douse flames with a fire extinguisher. Tackle the firefighter obstacle course, and model real fire gear. Handle the huge hoses and improve your aim with water target practice. We will finish with a fire hose race and wacky water fights, so dress to get wet and bring a towel! All students will receive an official IJF Academy t-shirt, plus a certificate upon graduation. Participants are required to complete a 2025 Jr Fire Academy Waiver form.
