This is a One Book, Many Neighbors program.  If participating in that, be sure to bring your brochure for your sticker to mark attendance.  Anyone can attend you don’t have to be doing the adult reading program. The mid-1800s were a time of excitement as gold was discovered.  Hundreds of thousands of people migrated to the West in search of gold, many to be disappointed.  The labor was hard, and the competition was fierce.  The Gold Rush was so large-scale and impactful that many historians consider it to be one of the most significant events for us in the 1800s.  Come learn about the history of prospecting gold and its evolution from members of the Pony Express Prospectors Association.  You’ll get a chance to see gold and learn how prospecting works now through a gold panning demonstration.

June #1 Graphic Novel Book Club

For kids 7 years and older. Press Start by Thomas Flintham is the reading selection, and copies are available at the front desk for check out.

Temporary Tattoos

Kids can have a little fun without the ink with our wide selection of temporary tattoos.  They’ll be dino-focused to go with our summer reading theme. Sticker up!

Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is right outside the library in our parking lot.  Shop at a variety of vendors find fresh goods check out local food trucks.  So much in store throughout the growing season! Runs weekly into October.

Guess the Dino Ends

Today is the final day!  Come to the front desk to get started on your new adventure!  Kids will match all the dino silhouettes they find throughout the library with the correct name.  Get it right, and they’ll win a prize!

Storytime

Join us for Friday morning fun with Storytime!  Geared towards children up to 5 years old.

Open Puzzle Time

Stop in on Friday afternoons for the relaxing activity of puzzles. We’ll have one laid out each week, and it’s open for anyone to work on.

Tonganoxie Library Run

It’s time for the annual Friends of the Library fundraising run around Tonganoxie! This is the largest fundraiser that the Friends group does each year.  Get REGISTERED!

Bingo! It’s free and fun to play with prizes included.

For adults.  We’ll have all kinds of art supplies on hand including things like paint, brushes, canvas, paper, rocks, pencils, etc. You’ll have free access to creativity!

Preschool playtime is geared towards the littles to let them engage in social play and activities.

Registration required by calling the library at 913-845-3281.  Registration will open one week prior to this date. Create a terrarium for a little dino to live in!
