NewsBank includes the full Historical TimesâPicayune collection, from its first issue in 1837 to today. Newspaper Archive offers papers from 47 countries and is one of the largest collections of historic newspapers, spanning from 1607 to the present. See how obituaries, community updates, daily stories, and social notes can help you uncover your familyâs past. This class is free and open to the public. Seating space is limited to adults. Registration is required. The library welcomes people of all abilities to programs. If you've never read a cozy mystery before or if you have read thousands, join us each month as we read and discuss the first book in a series. We will meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 10 am. What is a cozy mystery? The crime-solver is an amateur sleuth, who eavesdrops, gathers clues, and uses their native intelligence and knowledge of their community to solve the crime. Cozy mysteries are generally considered âgentleâ books and most have no graphic violence. The setting is often a small town full of colorful characters. Series frequently have a prominent thematic element introduced by the detective's job, pet, or hobby. These books are plot and character driven with an emphasis on solving puzzles rather than suspense. Our chosen book with serve as our theme for the meeting, we will talk about other book series with a similar theme as well as the recipes, crafts, and more included in many cozies.
