Calling all Veterans and First Responders ......More
Calling all Veterans and First Responders Acadiana Veteran Alliance and the Youngsville Sports Complex are teaming up to bring the first ever Battle of the Branches Softball Tournament, Friday, Nov. 21st – Saturday, Nov. 22nd! Q&A: Teams can be a mix of military veterans or first responders and “civilians” including friends, family, ringers, etc. Teams can also be co-ed. We will also be making the games even more fun by our own “Uncle Sam” throwing a few twists in… Q: Is this only open to veterans? A: No!! This tourney is open to all first responders teams, including fire, police, sheriff’s, and EMTs! Q: Can we have a mix of veterans and non-veterans, or mix of first responders and non? A: YES!! As long as the team has a few players that are veterans or first responders, the rest can be family, friends, ringers, etc. Q: Do we have to make our team co-ed? A: No! You can have an all guys (or all girls) team, and there are no rules for how many on each team Q: Do we have to provide our own equipment? A: We will provide the 40 core softballs, but teams are asked to have their own bats, gloves, etc. This will be competitive, but more of a fun-filled day with music, great games, and a fantastic way to support the men and women who keep this country safe!!! Register as a team or an individual and AVA will place you on a service branch team.
