Join PTC as we turn our mainstage into a movie screen for this free, one-night-only screening of the 1999 smash hit, "The Mummy" starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz! An English librarian called Evelyn Carnahan becomes interested in starting an archaeological dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra. She gains the help of Rick O'Connell, after saving him from his death. What Evelyn, her brother Jonathan and Rick are unaware of is that another group of explorers are interested in the same dig. Unfortunately for everyone, this group ends up unleashing a curse which been laid on the dead High Priest Imhotep. Now 'The Mummy' is awake and it's going to take a lot more than guns to send him back to where he came from.

BANGOR – Melodies for the Mind, a magical & musical event to benefit Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 2025 at the Gracie Theater at Husson University. The fundraiser will be held during National Mental Health Awareness Month. The stigma around mental health and treatment has long existed, even though this has started to change. Still, people hesitate to seek help or even talk about it with their loved ones for fear of being judged and facing unnecessary backlash. Simple logic dictates that if we are hurt anywhere, we must seek treatment to get better. This applies to both our mental- and physical well-being. This event brings awareness to taking care of ourselves. Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse, a program that fosters a community that focuses on helping adults with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, PTSD, etc to live vocationally meaningful and socially satisfying lives. The Clubhouse helps members return to work and school, live independently, and develop a social support network. In this collaborative, restorative environment, members gain access to opportunities to join the worlds of friendships, family, community, employment and education, and to the services and support they may need. The evening will include performances by Maine Street R&B Revue and mentalist Ryan Lally.

Maine employers are facing an urgent need: more skilled workers.  New programs at Maine’s community colleges are rebuilding Maine’s talent pipeline, delivering the skilled workers Maine businesses crave - when needed, where needed. These programs target new employees, career-changers, and incumbent workers so they get the skills they need *right now* - and they’re stackable so workers looking to keep going can continue their education and earn certificates or degrees.  Maine Community College System President David Daigler presents on how early college, Free College, and custom-built short-term workforce training at Maine's community colleges are setting a new standard and offering new solutions for Maine employers. Learn how to become part of this new workforce development movement – and meet your talent development needs. David Daigler is committed to building strong relationships with the state’s employers and leaders that lead to transformational educational opportunities for all Mainers. As president of the Maine Community College System since 2019, he has put that belief into action, overseeing the dramatic expansion of what community colleges offer and creating new educational opportunities that are more effective, efficient, affordable, and accessible to Maine people. Maine’s seven community colleges serve more than 30,000 people a year, through two-year associate degrees, one-year certificate programs, short-term workforce training, early college programs, advanced certificates, and other learning opportunities. During his tenure, Daigler guided the colleges to record high enrollments, signed historic new transfer agreements with public and private colleges in Maine, doubled the capacity of the system’s nursing programs, launched the Maine Free College initiative, and attracted more than $125 million in public and private investments exclusively for short-term workforce training programs. He is also the co-chair and founding member of the Maine Defense Industry Alliance, a public-private alliance coordinating workforce development for Maine’s defense manufacturers.  Daigler also serves on several boards including the New England Board of Higher Education, the Alfond Scholars Board, New England Delta Dental, and the Finance Authority of Maine.
