After much thoughtful discussion, the Saco Main Street Board of Directors and Saco Car Show planning committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the Saco Car Show. This beloved event has brought joy to our community for many years, and letting it go was not an easy choice. Several key factors contributed to this decision: the growing strain on organizational resources, multiple competing shows scheduled on the same day, and—most importantly—a steady decline in both sponsorships and volunteer support needed to make the event successful. We’re incredibly grateful to all the sponsors, car enthusiasts, volunteers, and attendees who have supported the Saco Car Show over the years. Your contributions helped create lasting memories and brought energy to our downtown. Indeed, humans worldwide have cultivated healthy relationships with wild plants, and all non-humans, for hundreds of thousands of years outside the realm of industrial civilization. Join us for a walking tour of wild edible (and medicinal) plants. We'll identify as many as we can find. We'll meet at the Brunswick Town Commons parking lot on Harpswell Road and walk a short loop around the area. You may want to bring a notepad or a camera. We will provide some free snacks made from foraged ingredients! NOTE: This class will be held entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Please dress appropriately. The class will begin promptly at the scheduled time. We will not be actively foraging during the class. The parking lot is not very large, so please try to carpool and park in the lot with courtesy. During this workshop Clare is an hands-on, active participant. The workshop will take place both inside and outside and rain or shine. Be sure to dress for the weather. Please bring your own materials including: white unlined paper, 2 sharpened pencils, 1 thin black lined pen. Colored pencils are optional as is a folding stool. Also please bring your own lunch and a drink. There is a water bottle refill station available. Open to ages 10+. All children under 18 must have an adult with them for the entire workshop.
