Windjammer Days marks the kick off to summer in the Boothbay region and is a time to reconnect with family, friends and neighbors after the long winter, an opportunity to support local businesses and welcome visitors. It is a time to honor our maritime history and celebrate the vital role it plays in the lives of all who live here. From the Gathering of the Fleet to the street parade, great food, art shows, to fireworks, windjammers for wee mateys, and vintage boat parade, there is something for everyone.  Come enjoy the fun! This performance of the iconic musical, celebrated for its timeless score and poignant storyline, is a concert performance of the classic love story between a carnival barker and a mill worker. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the filming of the movie musical right here in Boothbay Harbor, making this performance a special occasion for locals and guests alike. June 26, 27, 28 at 7 pm June 29 at 2 pm

After 50 years of touring and telling the best of Maine stories, Tim has announced his “farewell tour” for 2025, and his final performance will be where it all began, in Boothbay Harbor. Tickets will be available in person at the box office beginning in February BUT for those interested in securing advance discounted ticket reservations ($25), before regular tickets go on sale, please call the box office at 207-633-5159. The box office is open Wednesday-Friday from 10-2.  Do not visit the box office – physical tickets will not be available until February 5, 2025 – but those who call can reserve and pay for their tickets now. These special pre-sales are a result of enormous patron interest. If you want to see Tim this June, call the box office this January! Regular tickets will be $30.

The 2025 Summer Schedule is beginning to take shape, and BHYC is excited to be hosting the 4th iteration of the newly improved Battle of the Bay.  While there will still be the classic staples (course racing, food, friends, and t-shirts), we are expanding what a Junior Regatta looks like.  All centerboard dinghies under 20 feet are invited.  Classes that have six or more boats will be given a class start and trophies.  Look forward to more details soon and an even better event than last year. July 8-9, 2025 – Battle of the Bay – Hosted by Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club 2025 Regattas are shaping up! Visit bhyc.net often to see updates and schedules. Registration information will be made available as the regattas approach.  Note that BHYC Junior Program participants must be enrolled in the Junior Program for the week in order to participate in regattas or tennis tournaments.  Dates subject to change by host clubs, and our attendance will be based on interest for each regatta.

Boothbay Region Historical Society Welcomes Maine-based Author Van Reid On Thursday, July 10th, Maine-based author Van Reid will talk about his series of historical novels “The Moosepath League” Set in the state of Maine in the late 19th century, the novels on the surface are comic novels, but contain strong elements of adventure, mystery, romance and the occasional brush with the supernatural. Three corners of Van Reid’s family settled in the District of Maine in the 18th century, one corner of which has been in Edgecomb since the early 1800’s. The fourth corner arrived from Norway a thousand years after the Vikings. Van Reid grew up in a storytelling family and has attempted to infuse the spirit (and occasional details) of those stories into seven novels. We invite you to join us at 4:30pm at the Boothbay Town Office, 1011 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.
