Seacoast Science Center will celebrate World Ocean Day (WOD) on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 10am-2pm. World Ocean Day is a global celebration offering organizations and communities the opportunity to come together to honor and celebrate our one world ocean! Our World Ocean Day celebration supports our mission to inspire the conservation of our Blue Planet. It is a great opportunity for the community to come together, learn about the important role the ocean plays in our everyday lives, and how to take action to protect our ocean! The fun kicks off at 10am! Explore SSC’s exhibits, get hands-on at our indoor touch tank, and learn about the fascinating creatures that live just off our coast.  This year we are celebrating 34 years of providing exceptional coastal and ocean education! Along with SSC’s naturalists, event participants can meet local scientists, divers, artists, and conservationists who are passionate about protecting our one world ocean. Plus, learn more at activity stations led by SSC and our partners. Get ready to groove to the rhythm of Waypoint’s Music Fest, sponsored by Central Furniture, on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This year’s Music Fest features an electrifying lineup, with Motor Booty Affair headlining the event and Fugitive performing. This festival is about more than just music; it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and intellectual developmental disabilities. Proceeds from the Music Fest will directly support Waypoint’s children’s and adults’ programs. Waypoint offers a broad range of services designed to empower individuals with disabilities. Our special-purpose school supports children, helping them thrive academically and socially. Case management and clinical services provide essential support to both children and adults, enabling them to overcome various challenges. Additionally, we ensure safe and stable living environments through our shared living arrangements, group homes, and in-home supports. The Music Fest will kick off at 4 pm and continue until 8 pm at 5 Dunaway Drive in Sanford, at Waypoint’s historic waterfront. Attendees can indulge in delicious food from local vendors, including Kona Ice, and enjoy the beer garden sponsored by Shipyard Brewing Company and River Junction. Exciting raffle items, generated by Central Furniture, include a Weber Grill, Adirondack Chairs, and an Outdoor Fire Pit. Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event are available to purchase at www.waypointmaine.org. Choose from two types of tickets: General tickets are priced at $35 each, or opt for the Deluxe ticket package, which includes a t-shirt and koozie for $55.
