Greetings, Please hold this date for your P-TECH Mentor/Mentee session. After the mentor orientation on November 8, we will provide the actual meeting time for the 1-hour session. P-TECH Mentor Orientation Date: Friday, November 8, 2024 Time: 9:00am - 10:00 am Location: Frederick Douglass High School., 8000 Croom Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY A PGCPS EMPLOYEE YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER. Upload your Safe Training Certificates and Background Check/Fingerprinting Receipts HERE. IF YOU ARE NOT A PGCPS EMPLOYEE LET'S GET STARTED WITH THE VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION LINK BELOW Be sure to register and send a copy of your background check receipt and Safe Schools Training Certificates to tara.anderson@pgcps.org and kisha.dorch@pgcps.org. Follow the steps below. 1. Complete Volunteer Registration Click the Volunteer Registration Link to register. Note: There are separate steps for PGCPS employees. Current PGCPS Employees who wish to volunteer must log into the PGCPS Oracle Self-Service menu and select the option “Register to Volunteer.” Next, select “Go” and then “Add Application” to initiate your application. 2. Complete Background Screening Upon completion, email tara.anderson@pgcps.org and kisha.dorch@pgcps.org the YELLOW copy of your background screening receipt. (Paid for by P-TECH. Inform the Fingerprinting Office at Sasscer that you are volunteering with P-TECH and write "P-TECH" at the top of your paperwork.) 3. Complete Mandatory Safe Training Modules (TO BE COMPLETE ANNUALLY) Once you complete the online volunteer application, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application and assigning you a unique Volunteer Identification Number (VIN). Approximately 48 hours after your application is submitted, you will receive an email with a link to log in and complete the required training modules via the SafeSchools platform. You will use your VIN as your username to log in and complete the required training modules. If it has been more than 48 hours and you have not received an email with your training plan, go to https://pgcpsvolunteers-md.safeschools.com/login to begin your training. You must use the volunteer link and sign in using your Volunteer Identification Number (VIN) in order to receive credit for completing assigned training as part of the volunteer approval process.
