Art Exhibition: Witness to TransformationA collaboration with the Carroll County Historical Society and featuring the art of Carroll County artist Ruth Aukerman Community Gallery As part of the Maryland 250 commemoration, the Carroll County Arts Council and the Historical Society of Carroll County present “Witness to Transformation” an exhibition focused on the theme of revolution, both in its historical context during the Revolutionary era, and in ways that connect to today. Revolution can mean a turning point, a dramatic shift, or a movement toward renewal and transformation. It might be found in technological innovation, cultural change, personal growth, or community resilience. This exhibition highlights the spirit of revolution as a force for creativity and change, both past and present. Pro for a Day Workshop is a unique youth arts experience, designed for vocalists, interested in connecting with working professional artists through live performance, hands-on training, mentorship, and a public showcase. Designed to inspire confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging, this immersive program offers students behind-the-scenes access to the music industry while schools are closed. After completing the one-day workshop, students will return on Saturday 2/21 and help to plan, execute and perform in a live concert with their mentor artists, for a live audience. Workshop program focuses on vocalists interested in observing a live soundcheck and engaging in meaningful conversations about artistic careers and industry practices. Students will also take part in a full-day, conference-style experience featuring small-group breakout sessions focused on artistic identity and branding, performance technique and industry etiquette, and creative development. Throughout the program, students receive personalized coaching on a piece they will perform alongside professional artists in a Community Talent Showcase on Saturday. The experience concludes with a public performance and reception, celebrating student growth and creative achievement. Musical Theatre Performance opportunity for actors, dancers, and singers in grades 3-5. About Auditions:Auditions will take place on Tuesday, February 17th 5:00-6:30.Please prepare a 30 second song for this audition.If you cannot attend auditions we will provide an alternate audition method.About the Spring Production:Production: Show name will be announced at a later date.Cast List: The cast list will be sent in an e-mail to all addresses listed on the registration forms by Monday, February 23rd at 5pm.Staff:New Theatre Director will be announced prior to auditions.Rehearsals:Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-6:30 February 24th through May 4th, with a break at the end of Marc/ beginning of April.All actors and one guardian will be expected to attend the first rehearsal on Tuesday, February 24th (guardians will only be needed the last half hour- 6:00-6:30).Not all actors will be needed at every rehearsal depending on what portion of the show is being worked on that day.All actors must be available from 4:30-7:30 pm everyday May 11th -14th for dress and technical rehearsals.Performances:Friday, May 15th @ 7 pm, Saturday, May 16th @ 3 pm, and @ 5 pmCode of Conduct:All actors will be asked to sign a “code of conduct” as a pledge of behaving responsibly, practicing lines, music and choreography at home and to exhibiting a spirit of cooperation and respect for fellow cast members and production staff.We have a zero tolerance policy for physical or verbal bullying. This technique allows for the construction of intricate models, such as polyhedra, flowers, and geometric patterns, by combining simple, repetitive units. The primary goal is to create larger and more elaborate structures than traditional single-sheet origami, emphasizing geometric harmony and precision.
