You're invited to share your creativity with the community!  It is FREE to submit your work!The Carroll County Arts Council is looking for play submissions from local playwrights (age 18+) for their 4th Annual Marcia L. Bogash Playwright Festival coming this spring to the Carroll Arts Center. Local adult playwrights living in Maryland are invited to submit original short plays that are no longer than 15 minutes. All subject matters are welcome. The selected works will be performed as staged readings at the festival on Saturday, May 30. The selected playwrights will not only see their work come to life, but chosen playwrights will also have the option to get direct feedback from the audience and receive a small stipend. Playwrights are responsible for directing their own play and finding actors to participate in the reading.   Interested applicants can submit a PDF attachment of their play along with their name, contact information, and a short bio of 100 words or less via the Application Form found on the Arts Council's website. This year, the application will be run through the SlideRoom software. All applicants will need to create a SlideRoom account. There is no application fee nor charge for a SlideRoom account.  Questions about participating should be sent to Special Events and Volunteer Coordinator Gwen Asbury (They/Them) at [email protected].  The deadline to submit plays is April 1. All applicants will be notified if their play has or has not been chosen for the festival by the selection committee in early May.  The mission of The Marcia L. Bogash Playwright Festival is to provide local artists with an engaging environment for the development and promotion of new theatrical works in memory of one of Carroll County's most celebrated arts advocates.   A founding member of the Carroll Players theater group, Marcia L. Bogash was an avid supporter of the arts in Carroll County. She was also an active Carroll County Master Gardeners member and worked with the Charlotte Quest Nature Center in Manchester. This festival is dedicated in her memory to honor her impact on the Carroll County arts community.  Information, Guidelines & Registration

Trio Sirènes enjoys pushing boundaries and highlighting the diverse sonic possibilities of their wind and string instruments. The trio seeks to create innovative programs by presenting standard repertoire, works by contemporary composers, and transcriptions from earlier time periods.Flutist Marcia McHugh became a member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra after performing with the orchestra during the 2005-2006 season as Second Flute. She was the BSO’s acting piccolo player for the 2017-2018 season.Karin Brown received critical acclaim for her “strikingly rich and warm tone” (The Strad) after making her solo recital debut at Carnegie Weill Hall. Ms. Brown is Assistant Principal Violist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and performs as soloist and chamber musician in the Baltimore/Washington area.Jacqueline Pollauf, American harpist, is known for her sensitive performances, dedication to teaching, and beautifully crafted compositions.
