  Voices of Experience: What works, what frustrates, and what to do to strengthen the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Breakfast available at 8:30 a.m. This event will be live-streamed and recorded.   Register Now The Edgerley Center for Civic Leadership at the Boston Foundation 75 Arlington Street, 3rd Floor, Boston   With the Healey-Driscoll administration’s housing plan calling for expanding rental vouchers, the time is right to take stock of the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP). For a comprehensive analysis that looked beyond the numbers, we needed to hear how the program works on the ground. Several organizations came together to do just that: Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, the Boston Foundation, Metro Housing|Boston, United Way of Massachusetts Bay, CHAPA, Regional Housing Network, BAMSI and La Colaborativa. Using a mix of surveys, focus groups and interviews, MassINC Polling Group heard directly from tenants and landlords. The resulting report is a rich portrait of a system’s successes and challenges. Be among the first to explore the vivid findings at this forum, where we'll present and discuss the status of MRVP. Nonprofit leaders and legislators will offer comments and keynotes and researchers will present top takeaways. Roy Cooper Wednesday, May 7, 2025, 1-1:30pm ET | Online  Register to receive a link to watch and submit your questions.    Before leaving the office of Governor due to term limits earlier this year, Roy Cooper expanded North Carolina’s Medicaid program, enrolling more than 650,000 residents, many in rural areas. He also worked with hospitals to create a medical debt relief program aimed at helping nearly 2 million residents get out from under the weight of $4 billion in medical bills that they couldn’t afford to pay. In this conversation, Gov. Cooper will explain the value he sees in Medicaid and the potential impact of federal funding cuts to public health. Participants will sketch, paint and write as they explore how to challenge internal criticism and societal expectations to rewrite their personal narratives with strength and intention. No art experience needed. This workshop centers Queer, trans, disabled, and Black, Latino, Asian American, and Indigenous individuals, and offers a supportive space for all. This festival is our way of saying, “Thanks for riding your bike today!” It's important to celebrate everyone who rides in Boston, and to encourage newer riders to try out commuting alongside more experienced neighbors. Join a group ride leaving from your neighborhood or show up just for the fun. Register today!By registering, you can sign up for a free t-shirt. We also share information with group ride leaders so they know who to expect.
