The First Wednesday Book Club meets on the first Wednesday evening of each month (with occasional calendar changes to accommodate holidays) at 6:30 PM. Now in our fourth year, the club reads both fiction and non-fiction books across a variety of genres with selections chosen via voting by members. Meetings are semi-structured discussions of the book and there is typically a themed snack provided by club leader, Jen. Membership in the club is currently full with future openings hard to predict. Patrons can express interest in joining by filling out the Book Club Interest Form, though this does not guarantee membership. Anyone can follow along with us by checking out our Book Club @ Large display, located in the library on an aisle end cap in our Adult Fiction area. The display includes a book list of past and present selections, copies of books from our list for you to check out, reviews of the book we just discussed, and recipes you can take home for the themed snacks! Registration is required. For the first week of registration, patrons from towns within 5 miles of Boxborough are prioritized. Calling all creative adults, come get crafty with us at the library! This month's craft: Eraser Stamp Carving Learn how to carve one of a kind stamps using simple erasers! Then in March - bring back your stamp to make Fabric Scraps Stickers! Registration for March's craft will open on Feb. 25 at 10 AM. Session 1: Thursday, March 26 at 6:00 PM Session 2: Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00 PM This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Boxborough Library. ------------------ Registration Cancellation Procedure If you register for a program and are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 48 hours in advance. For emergencies, let the Library know as soon as possible. Warnings will be issued for registrants who miss a program without advanced notice. On the third warning, the registrant will be suspended from program registration for 3 months. Registered attendees who arrive to a program 10 minutes after the scheduled start time will forfeit their spot and it will be treated as an absence. The Library has to take this action due to the high cost of programs, existing waitlists, and empty seats reserved for absent registrants.
