Symphony Pro Musica offers $15 concert tickets through its Library Pass Program Two concert tickets ($15 each) are available for the concert to be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Mill Pond School, Westborough. Regular admission price is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and students, and children are always free. Orchestral Showcase! Maria Martins joins the orchestra to perform Claudio Santoro's Cello Concerto Symphony Pro Musica has been a cultural cornerstone of the MetroWest/Central Massachusetts region since its founding in 1983. The orchestra is composed of approximately 70 musicians drawn from the local communities and beyond. Prospective SPM orchestra members audition for their parts -- the bar is set high, and the repertoire reflects this. In addition to popular classical favorites, the orchestra performs less frequently played and challenging pieces, often thematically organized. SPM has performed with choruses, opera companies, and ballet companies -- the organization continues to challenge itself with meaningful collaborations. Once you've reserved the tickets, you may stop by to pick them up during regular business hours. About the concert There will be a preconcert talk 45 minutes before the start of the performance From Wagner’s stirring introduction to one of the monumental tragedies of Italian history to the exquisite tone painting of the French impressionist Debussy’s depiction of the many moods of the sea, this program reminds us why the symphony orchestra remains the most popularly appealing vehicle for the art of Western classical music. Prepare to be enchanted by the orchestra’s immense variety of expression and ability to both move and inspire us. Also featured on the program is the recently rediscovered major cello concerto by 20th century Brazilian composer, Claudio Santoro, that employs the cello to portray the exotic narrative, dance, and lyricism of our South American neighbor. 20-to-30-Somethings Book Club is getting revamped and reimagined into something very exciting!  This year, the Massachusetts Center for the Book has released a state-wide reading challenge, and we created this coinciding book group to get you inspired and keep on track with it! Each month, we'll read a book that matches that month's challenge, then gather to talk about our reading experiences.   You don't have to be in your 20s and 30s, and we most likely won't all read the same books; what you choose to read is up to you.
