Join us for a fun and free day at the Museum, where everyone is welcome to explore our iconic art collection! Enjoy complimentary admission all day, thanks to the Nypro Foundation. Slow LookingWhat to do: Grab a free sketchbook, pencil, and colored pencils at the front desk.Choose an interesting icon and spend 5-10 minutes looking at it closely.Sketch or write down what you see and how it makes you feel in your notebook.Repeat this process throughout the Museum with different artworksIf you’d like, share your completed notebooks with us at the front desk – we’d love to see your creative interpretations!This is a free event for all ages designed to spark your imagination and discover the wonder of art through close observation and creativity.

New members are always welcome. You can join in person or via Zoom. This month’s book is Cecil the Lion Had to Die by Olena Styazhkina. Cecil the Lion Had to Die is a historical novel following four interconnected families in Donetsk, Ukraine, from the collapse of the Soviet Union to the 2014 Russian occupation of the region. The book uses the viral news event of Cecil the lion’s death as a metaphor for the senselessness of conflict and the transient nature of public attention, providing a nuanced look at how local identity and war shape Ukrainian history and personal fates.
