This series of in person meditation classes runs for 11 weeks. 3/19 thru 5/28. Please register for each individual class session. Some of the styles of concentrative meditation practice that we may explore will include BRFWA (breathe, relax, feel, watch and allow), Autogenics Relaxation, Mantra Meditation (repetition of a specific phrase), Mudra Meditation (a particular shape of hands, fingers, arms), Metta (Loving Kindness) Meditation, and Breath awareness. Class will begin with a warm welcome, an introduction into the type of practice that we will be doing, a settling-in practice with breath work, before settling into a comfortable seat on your mat or in a chair (or in a lying down position if a yoga mat is brought). Next will be a guided meditation followed by 10 to 20 minutes of stillness / silence. The class will end with an integration practice that may include poetry reading, silent journaling and sharing experience with the group. Registrants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, beach towel, blanket, or cushion to sit/lay on and a journal and pen. Connolly, a retired registered nurse with 43 years of experience, is a certified 500-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher, and Reiki II Practitioner. Explore local open spaces by joining a guided tour with a member of the Open Space Committee! We'll have several different hikes for teens and adults of all abilities from spring through fall. Our second hike of 2025 will be at Beaver Brook at 761 Mammoth Road; we will meet at the trailhead. Please register so we can notify you if anything changes that day. We will leave the trailhead by 6:05pm so please consider arriving early. We also recommend taking measures to prevent tick bites, such as wearing long pants and light-colored clothing, and maybe using bug spray or other repellant.  Beaver Brook Farm boasts 1 1⁄2 mile of trails around the fields of this recently acquired historic farm with access to Beaver Brook, and to the Dracut School complex. These trails have become popular for their views, exercise, and wildlife viewing. The farmhouse (private property) and squash barn on the property are of historic significance.
