The Open Gate Garden Club and the Boyden Library have teamed up to offer the community a talk on Native Plants with Sean Kent. Learn more about how you can landscape and garden with native plants and create habitat for wildlife. During this program you will learn how native plants support essential pollinators, including hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies and create a foundation for local food webs. Many insects eat native plants as larvae and almost all nesting song birds, like chickadees, rely on insects to feed their fledglings. During this program, you will learn more about native plants and simple ways to get started gardening with native plants. Boyden's Writing Group is welcoming new members! Those interested, please register and the group facilitator, Suzanne Sobol Case, will be in touch via email to provide more details. Writers of all genres and levels of experience are invited to form a community of writers committed to craft and life-long learning.  Mission: Foster a supportive group setting where writers freely share their work and insights with one another. Values: Empathy informs our interactions and our writing. We are collectively committed to creating a safe place to nurture our diverse writing talents. Meeting structure: - Each meeting will start with an ice-breaking exercise or a writing exercise. - Facilitated group discussion about the submitted work or works including time for the writer to ask questions about the feedback, if applicable. - Time permitting, a quick roundtable to discuss goals for the coming weeks, or challenges with respect to writing.
