A button that has come off?Bring your clean item to the GPL Makerspace on the third Tuesday of the month between 2:00 - 4:00 pm, and let us brainstorm a solution so that you can mend your item. We will help you figure out the fix and maybe even get you started. We have sewing machines, simple hand sewing tools for basic mending repairs.Drop-ins are welcome and pre-registration is preferred. Are you interested in exploring or preparing for a career as a Community Health Worker (CHW)?Members of the Massachusetts Rural Workforce Training Network (MARWTN) will be at the Greenfield Public Library on Monday, August 11, 1:00 - 3:00 pm, and Wednesday August 20, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm to offer information and answer questions about their free training program to become a CHW and learn more about working in healthcare professions. The MARWTN is an educational collaborative whose objective is to promote the Community Health Worker (CHW) profession across rural areas of Massachusetts. They will be starting a new round of trainings for the CHW program beginning September, 2025 at no cost for those living and/or working in Franklin County. We value and support a bilingual/bicultural work force and encourage all to apply. Scholarships are available for qualified trainees who may need financial support with transportation or child/adult care while in training after successful completion of the 80 hour training.For more information contact Erin Lenski at [email protected] program is free and open to the public.

A Certified Masshealth Navigator helps people navigate the complex healthcare system by helping people understand their insurance options, connects patients to community resources/supports, reduces barriers to care, is an advocate, and helps people make informed decisions about their health insurance options by working to increase health insurance literacy. Masshealth Navigators assist with applying for Masshealth and Health Connector Plans, adding family members to Masshealth, renewing Masshealth plans, troubleshooting issues with Masshealth, shopping for and selecting a health insurance plan, and more!This program is free and open to the public.
