Do you like books and surprises? Try our subscription book box service. Here's how it works: 1. Sign up for a Book Box each month. Each box will include a new library book along with treats, crafts, and other goodies. 2. Pick up your box at the Library on the first Tuesday of the month. Once you get home, open your surprise! You'll need to return the library book at the end of the month, but you keep everything else.   3. Repeat! Sign up, return your book, and pick up your next box. Registration open to Hanson residents only: April 1 - April 19 Registration open to everyone: Starting on April 20 Any registrations that are submitted for non-residents during the period open to Hanson residents only will be moved to the waiting list. Through Me To You Puppetry invites you to join Newton and the gang for Puppet Story Time! Newton and his puppet friends take turns reading stories and singing songs with the children. At the end of the 30-minute show will a brief demo of various puppet styles (moving mouth puppets, glove puppets, arm & rod puppets, finger puppets). Children will then have an opportunity to explore the puppets that Newton brings to share during Puppet Free Play. The free play portion lasts about 20-30 minutes. In this beginners cookie decorating class, JoAnna Letourneau of Blackbird Baking Co. will walk you through decorating 5 spring-themed cookies in a small group setting. No experience is necessary. Some of the following techniques will be used/discussed: Icing consistencies Baking tips and tricks Outlining and flooding Wet-on-wet techniques  Each participant will receive access to recipes and other helpful cookie decorating info. Access to a cookie decorating group will also be provided. Materials Fee: $10 per person* Due by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 9 Cash or check made payable to Hanson Public Library Your spot in the class will be held until the materials fee due date. On Saturday, May 10 we will move on to the waiting list to fill your spot if the materials fee has not been received. Only one person may register per form. A separate form must be filled out for each person interested in attending. After completing the form, your status will be set to Approved or Waiting List. However, Approved attendees must still bring in payment before the deadline in order for their spot to be held.  Registration open to Hanson Library cardholders only: May 1 to May 9 Registration open to everyone: Starting on May 10 Preference will be given to Hanson Library residents when moving individuals from the waiting list to the list of approved attendees. This program is made possible in part by State Aid to Public Libraries. *While the Library primarily offers programs and activities that are free to all participants, we sometimes charge a materials fee for programs in order to provide offerings that are beyond our standard budget.
