Rick Desmarais presents a HistoRick Happening! Rick Desmarais is a local historian and long-time member of the 2nd Suffolk regiment, First Company of Foot (aka Hingham Militia). He is a former Boston By Foot docent guide with over 25 years of experience leading tours throughout Boston and other South Shore destinations. This presentation will focus on why cannons were necessary to ultimately prevail in the Siege of Boston. We will recount the difficult journey that Gen. Knox and his “Noble Train” endured to relocate several artillery pieces from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston.
