Discover the rich and diverse world of teas from from India, Japan and China in this guided tasting class. Led by Sandeep Hazarika, we will be tasting a total of 5 teas: two bold, malty Assam teas—famous as the foundation of English and Irish Breakfast blends, one delicate, aromatic Darjeeling tea often called the “Champagne of Teas”, one traditional Japanese Sencha green tea and one mid roasted Oolong tea from China. As part of the class, we will explore the origin, history, and cultural significance behind each one. Throughout the session, we’ll discuss the traditions that shape the flavor and character of every tea you will be tasting. Handmade biscotti from Bakers Lane Biscotti will also be served with the teas. **THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE A POPULAR PROGRAM - PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR EMAIL TO SEE IF YOU ARE REGISTERED OR WAITLISTED** About Sandeep Hazarika: Sandeep Hazarika grew up in Assam, India. His family's ties with the tea industry go back 4 generations, but due to the many hardships his grandfather had endured, he discouraged his kids from working in the tea industry. Instead of fulfilling his boyhood dream of becoming a tea taster, Sandeep's father joined academia and became a Professor at a local university in Assam. Sandeep's earliest recollections of tea are the stories his father used to tell him and his siblings about his childhood growing up in a tea estate and being surrounded by the culture of tea. After he and his wife got married and started visiting India, they came to discover his father's many tea stores and merchants from whom his father procures his tea, some of the best tea you could buy in India. During each trip to India, they started bringing back with them loose leaf black tea from various tea estates. Once they got back home to the US, they started experimenting by blending different types of tea. Eventually, what started as a hobby of blending different teas for breakfast started turning into a passion for tea, leading them down the path of opening a tea business called Pretty Good Tea (www.prettygoodtea.com). https://hollistonlibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/a-tasting-of-teas-from-india-japan-and-china/

The culture has become a way of life for many young people. This talk will analyze the current state of Hip Hop.
