The Town run artist shanty program provides affordable rental space for Cape Cod artists and artisans to work and sell at these “seaside studios”. The shanties are named for the town’s seven villages and each shanty at Bismore Park features past and present images of the villages. The Harbor Overlook shanties are named for several public town beaches. This program provides prime visibility and opportunities for artists to gain and improve business, marketing and selling skills, connect with other artists and meet visitors from around the region and the world.

Rose Clancy’s Tuesday Night Fiddle Concerts ~ All Summer Long! Celtic songs and fiddle tunes abound at one of Cape Cod’s most amazing Summer Concert Series! Cape Cod based fiddler Rose Clancy is a much respected, high energy musician playing fiddle, mandolin and banjo at concerts and festivals throughout the Northeast while sharing the stage with some of the greatest traditional performers. Clancy’s unique fiddle style embraces, Northern Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and some French-Canadian influences. Rose carries forward the music played by multiple generations of her family with roots dating back to 1950s Ireland, where members of the Clancy family played at country dances and concerts throughout Ireland. Rose learned Traditional Music from her Father, Eugene Clancy and began her musical career at an early age performing with her family’s musical group, The Clancy Tradition. Rose has performed at Gaelic Roots, Boston College, the South Shore Conservatory, Roots and Branches with Robbie O’Connell and at The Burren Backroom, with Jacqueline Schwab. She has released several CDs with The Clancy Tradition and a solo CD with pianist Brendan Dolan.“Lovely, energetic music played without pretension”. Daniel Neely, The Irish Echo ‘Powerful fiddling from an Irish American who also knows the Scottish and Cape Breton traditions” Alex Monaghan, Folkworld. Eugene Clancy originally hails from Armagh, Northern Ireland. In 1960 he left Ireland with his two brothers to tour the United States as The Irish Ramblers. Eventually, he settled in New York and continued the musical tradition with his children and members of his extended family known as “The Clancy Tradition” in the 1980’s. Eugene has performed at Carnegie Hall, Donnelly Memorial Theater, Soldiers Field, Chicago, The Gate of Horn, Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland, Gertys Folk City & the Bitter End. Max Cohen, a virtuoso finger style guitarist who also possesses a brilliantly emotive voice, Max has been playing and writing for more than thirty years. His musicianship has drawn accolades from critics and fans alike. As a performer, his attention to detail is what truly distinguishes him, as his playing is characterized by technical precision and exquisite tone. Max has played and toured all over the US and Canada. but currently he is living on Cape Cod where he is involved with the local traditional music scene. These days Max is accompanying the likes of fiddler Rose Clancy, as well as Franco American fiddler Donna Hebert. Max is also the regular accompanist of renowned folk singer Priscilla Herdman, and he plays with the Martha’s Vineyard based group The Misfits of Avalon. John Alden, upright bass player is a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, dance caller and a Cape Cod cranberry farmer. Playing the largest and the lowest pitched string instrument, John enhances the folk music by providing the rhythmic music to the group and playing essential parts of a folk song that you don’t necessarily hear by providing a good feeling and steady pulse.

Naturescape Gallery presents: “Gardens & Beaches” by Eve Aspinwall July 2 – August 30, 2025 Cape Cod Museum of Natural History Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents Gardens & Beaches, paintings by artist and art educator, Eve Aspinwall, July 2 – August 30, 2025, during Museum open hours. Artist Statement:“I didn’t set out to do paintings of my garden, I just couldn’t help myself. This is where we spend much of our time when we’re not enjoying the beaches, so it seems natural to include them in a summer show. Like the beach, the garden changes every day and every year, and yet, the underlying rhythms remain the same. Softly undulating swaths of color and light, the curves of pathways and layered natural forms, all bring a sense of serenity and wonder. I am interested in both realism and abstraction and how the two ways of seeing connect with expressionism – the ways we feel. For me, the beach is a primal place, vast and inspiring, nourishing and refreshing. In our yards and gardens, we try to create our own nourishing landscape – with varying degrees of success. A garden is an intimate, evolving relationship with nature and its wild possibilities and surprises.” Eve studied at Vesper George School of Art, School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Massachusetts College of Art, and Lesley College School of Expressive Therapies and she holds a BFA in Printmaking and Drawing from the Massachusetts College of Art As an art educator, Eve taught at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School, Cambridge, MA, Brookline Adult Education, Nauset Community Education, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, private lessons and workshops. She has exhibited in multiple shows including Boston Visual Artist Union and Gallery 52 in Boston, Hopkins and David Wright Galleries in Wellfleet, Casa Vieja Gallery and Siddhia Hutchinson Galleries in Vieques, PR, OMA Gallery and Adorn, in Orleans, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and Cape Cod Museum of Art.
