Pick up a folder for Summer Reading and receive: Your first tracker sheetGiveaway prizesEvents calendar and flyersA ticket for one FREE Hawaiian ice from Kona Ice (their truck will be parked behind the Library from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.)A craft to add to our “Garden of Good Intentions”Can’t make the kickoff? No problem! Pick up a folder any time after this event during regular Library hours.  How Summer Reading works: Use a tracker sheet to record how much you read.*Color in one bubble on your tracker sheet for every 10 minutes that you read or someone reads to you. Read printed books (including graphic novels!) or ebooks, or listen to audiobooks or playaways. They all count!When you fill up a tracker sheet, bring it back to Lenox Library to receive a free book and one “Chance to Win” ticket. (You’ll place your “Chance to Win” ticket into the container for the prize you would like to try to win). You also will get another tracker sheet.The first tracker sheet you turn in also earns you an ice cream gift card!After the End of Summer Reading Party, we will pull one ticket from each container and award that prize to a lucky winner. We’re kicking off our first ever Summer Reading Program for Adults!  Adults ages 18+ can stop by any time on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 to sign up for our new Adult Summer Reading Program and pick up a packet containing their first tracker sheet, a list of summer programs, and descriptions of end-of-summer raffle bundles.  Treat yourself to some Hawaiian ice from Kona Ice from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Stop by between 5:30 and 6:45 p.m. for our evening craft making embroidery bookmarks (and earn your first raffle ticket by attending)!  Please register by emailing [email protected]. Can’t stay for the craft? Don’t sweat it! We’ll have take-and-make bags so you can craft at home. WAM (Where Arts and Activism Meet) will hold a five-week program titled “Ballot Ballad” at Lenox Library for middle school students (ages 11-14). The program will focus on women in American History and will explore one of the biggest “what ifs” in our country’s founding—“what if women had been in the room where it happened?” We will also examine the history and current landscape of civic engagement in Massachusetts and the United States. Participants will take part in ensemble-based theater and movement workshops, taught by a WAM Theatre Teaching Artist, and craft original performance pieces. Open to all who are interested.
