For kids in incoming grades 4-6. Join librarian and Game Master Casey for an hour minutes of D&D adventure! New adventurers and seasoned pros are all welcome! How to play will be taught to those who need it. Each month will be its own separate one shot so no need to be able to make all of them. Any questions, feel free to email [email protected]. All materials will be provided: dice, character sheets, pencils and paper, access to the Player's Handbook, but if you wish to bring your own from home, feel free! All characters should be level 4. OF NOTE: D&D is a game of collaborative storytelling among both players and Game Master. While side quests are fun, there is an expectation that all players are willing to play the game the way it is intended and follow the adventure along with the other players. If any player repeatedly demonstrates an unwillingness to do so, they will be asked to leave and try again another time. Registration is required. Calling all Pokemon trainers, ages 6+!  Join us for some summer Pokemon fun. We'll be doing a themed craft, some group trivia, and include some time for sharing and/or trading our cards at the end. You don't need to be a Pokemon expert to come, just have some interest. Rules for trading: please understand that the librarians do not know the value of cards and cannot attest to the fairness of any trades. We would suggest leaving any cards of value at home. If planning to trade, make sure to have a distinct difference between cards you might want to show off and those to trade. Anyone is allowed to say NO to a trade and that is to be immediately respected. If it is not, the librarian will be present to make sure there are no tears. Be entirely sure you want to trade to participate - it is NOT mandatory! (We'll be designating a corner of the room for trading and the rest for just showing off cards and chatting pokemon!) Genealogy has become much more popular with the ease of finding information on the Internet, but far from everything for your family history is on the Internet!  Starting with the forms common in genealogical research, we will explore research techniques, census reports, researching at repositories, internet research, organizing and writing in order to help you create a lasting family heirloom! This class will have something for both the beginning and experienced family researcher. Seema-Jayne Kenney started in the business of genealogy after completing the Genealogical Research Certificate Program at Boston University’s Center for Professional Education in 2010. Since then, she continued her education via ProGen & NIGR in 2012, and joined several Genealogy Societies, attended local conferences, and enjoyed several webinars. Seema began exploring her family history while she was still in high school, and discovered family roots that go deep into Colonial New England and extend to England, Germany, Sweden, and The Netherlands.
