Explore Marshfield on foot! New to town? Longtime resident? Looking for friends to walk with? Here is your opportunity to explore some of Marshfield’s gems. This series of FREE Summer walks is co-sponsored by the Recreation Trails Committee and the Ventress Memorial Library. The walks are designed to allow residents the opportunity to explore trails which are located in Marshfield. With over 25 trails in town, there is probably one located not far from where you live. Our community walks are led by RTC members and a variety of guest presenters. The walks are limited to 12 participants, age 10 and older. Students age 10-17 are welcome with an adult. Participants will learn about the history of the property and will share their knowledge with others. Hikers are encouraged to: Wear sturdy shoes Dress for the weather, which includes hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (you absolutely can get sunburn in the winter!), walking stick and bug spray Bring their own water bottle, and a peanut-free snack Some trails may not be suitable for all individuals. Hills, rocks, tree limbs, uneven ground and brush are all common trail features. We love dogs, but for the comfort of all please leave them home during these walks. While our walks vary in length, they may go up to two hours per walk. In the event of heavy rain or thunder, walks will be rescheduled for the listed rain date. The North and South River Watershed Association offers descriptions of Marshfield and Marshfield area trails at NSRWA.org. Get outdoors – Forest Trails – to see which trails may be a good match for you. Registration is required. Space is limited and a wait list will be created once a walk fills. Volunteer opportunities exist for individuals, organizations and or businesses who wish to help improve and promote our vast network of community trails. December Welcome to Winter Walk  Saturday, December 20th, 1:00 PM.  Help us celebrate the start of winter with a nice healthy walk. We will share a new trail; the official name is 715 Main Street; however, we plan to use the Forest Street entrance. We will park near the street hockey rink, as vehicles can't legally park on Forest Street. We will then walk as a group to the trail entrance. Staff will point out our trail sign and the XC course entrance.  During our walk we will travel through a forest, walk along an old road, explore the sand pit, stump dump and more. Spring 2026!! Where do you want to go? Tell us the trails that you would like to explore this spring. We’ll see you on the trail.
