The class which begins on May 20 until June 17 focuses on everyday words and idioms which students will likely hear in their daily lives. A topic for discussion is offered in each class. Grammar is not emphasized. Vocabulary sheets are provided for every class and a dictionary of idioms is given at the end of the course. No homework is expected. Each meeting features a new topic. For babies ages 3 weeks to pre-crawling with their parent/caregiver (approximate age range is 0-9 months). Baby Yoga is a class focused on gentle movement and developmentally-safe yoga poses for the babies! The parent assists the baby into easy folds and simple stretches timed with sweet songs and rhymes. The parent does very little physical yoga themselves as these poses are solely focused on supporting the baby's growing body. Modifications and instruction are provided for a baby's particular developmental stage during the class to ensure that every sweet pea is practicing the poses designed just for that age and stage. Parents are encouraged to take breaks as needed during the class to nurse, feed, or change a diaper. Register for the livestream on Thursday, June 5, 10:00am ET. Cannot attend the livestream? David lives in Stow and has been presenting these wonders to many local audiences as an awareness of what can be found in people's own backyards (or wetlands, in this case). About David: David received his undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology at College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University in the 1970s. He went on to receive a Ph.D. in Toxicology and spent his career in pharmaceutical research. He will discuss aids to identification, traditional plant uses, interesting facts about mutualistic and parasitic relationships, and the origin of plant names (an amazing topic in itself). Bill will then provide species accounts for over 60 wildflowers, including Herb-Robert, Wild Bergamot, Indian Tobacco, Dwarf Enchanter’s Nightshade, Allegheny Monkey-flower, Arrow-leaved Tearthumb, Yellow Pine-sap, Boneset, Canada Burnet, Turtlehead, and Downy Rattlesnake-plantain.
