Put on your boots and head to Soule Homestead! Our farm friendly story hour is back after a winter break and we couldn’t be more excited. Come meet an animal or learn about a wild animal at our center, hear a story, and make a craft. This program is geared towards ages 2-5 but siblings are always welcome.First Farm Fun is an hour long drop-in program, no pre-registration is needed. Bring a blanket for story time or enjoy the grass. Feel free to bring a lunch to stay and picnic after the program wraps up at 11am. Restrooms, water fountain, and baby changing station located in the barn.Soule Homestead is an organic historic but also working farm. Dates: Sept 13th Time: 10am – 12:30pm Workshop Fee: $15 (includes 1 bandana), additional bandanas available for pre-purchase Members get a 15% discount on all workshops Support the farm and become a member today! Pre-Registration is REQUIRED Join us to capture summer on wonderful bananas that you create at Soule. We will provide you with flowers, greens, and inspiration, and you get to design the colorful bandana of your dreams. Hammering is fun (and a stress relief) so everyone wins! This is a rolling workshop, which means times will be staggered to accommodate all who sign up. Please register and arrive on time for your starting time slot. Each person (children included) who plans to make a bandana must register. Each registration comes with one pre-mordanted bandana. More bandanas are available for purchase. Just select the number you would like to make at check out. Some extra may be available day of, but we cannot guarantee it. Rug Braiding – Pre-registration required Workshop Time: Runs typically every 3rd Saturday, from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm (check dates below) Workshop Fee: $30 for new member students & $40 for new non-members for each of the first 2 classes, and then $15 for returning members, $25 returning for non-members Workshop Location: East Classroom Pre-registration is now required. We need a minimum of 6 attendees to run the class. Registration closes Wednesday before the workshop. New students are required to complete 2 lessons before they can be considered returning workshop participants. Join our rug braiding workshop with instructor Mary Guidoboni. Discover this uniquely American art form. All levels are welcome. Students returning from past sessions may bring unfinished projects to work on. Everyone should bring scissors, needles, thread, and wool (available for new students.) Wool is available to purchase here. The instructor has requested a minimum of 6 students to run the class, so registration in advance is required. Thank you for understanding. Soule Homestead Cancellations: Each workshop must have a minimum number of students to run. If Soule finds it necessary to cancel a workshop, we will notify students three days prior to the scheduled workshop start date or as soon as we are able in unforeseen circumstances. In the case of inclement weather at the farm or unforeseen circumstances, we will offer registrants a refund or you will be invited to donate your workshop/admission ticket to support our nonprofit farm. If we schedule a rain date and you are unable to attend you will be offered a refund or the option to donate your workshop/admission ticket to support our nonprofit farm. If you purchase admission to an event and you decide you no longer want to attend, we do not offer refunds at this time. Your workshop/admission ticket will be considered a donation to our nonprofit farm.

Join Entomologist and Plymouth County Extension Educator Blake Dinius for a fascinating talk about the role of forensic entomology in solving various crimes. Forensic entomologists are the scientists called upon to help in criminal investigations and use insects to help learn about various aspects of crime scenes.  -An introduction to forensic entomology -How insect biology plays a role in solving various crimes

Workshop Location: West Classroom Join us for a wonderful workshop focused on using flowers to dye napkins. These make a wonderful gift for yourself or a holiday present for a loved one. In this workshop you will learn the basics of flower dying and each attendee will receive two cotton napkins to dye. Attendees can chose from different dye baths and will learn how to add details through folding techniques or adding designs with organic materials grown or sourced from around Soule. Dress for mess and all materials will be provided. Come create and have fun!! Workshop is suitable for children age 10+ but must be accompanied by an adult.
