Join us for PVC Baby & Me at the Poirier Village Center, a warm and welcoming CFCE playgroup designed for families with pre-walkers. Led by our beloved CFCE facilitator Ms. Marcia, this group offers a supportive space to connect with other caregivers while your baby explores age-appropriate toys and materials. Each session includes group songs, simple stories, and plenty of time for connection and conversation. Itâs a wonderful way to build community during the early stages of parenthood! Morrill Memorial Library is excited to partner with Norwood-based Lifeworks Inc to bring a series of art classes called Sensory-friendly Art Classes for Adults to the library. The classes will be held weekly on Fridays from 10:30 am to 11:45 am in the Simoni Room. Join the art instructor Stephanie Enloe for Sensory-friendly Art Classes for Adults, a program specially designed for adults with different levels of cognitive abilities. Each week, Ms. Stephanie will guide our participants to create one-of-a-kind art projects, often utilizing recycled/repurposed materials and items found in nature.  Ms. Stephanie says, "I am very excited to be partnering with Lifeworks and the Morrill Memorial Library for this special program and look forward to the friendships, laughs and smiles that will happen along the way." The Morrill Memorial Library is pleased to welcome local storyteller and author Judah Leblang for a performance of his one-man play, "It's Now or Never: My Life in the Late Middle Ages," on Saturday, November 1 at 1:00pm in the Simoni Room. "It's Now or Never" is Judah Leblang's mostly humorous look at one gay, Jewish, hard-of-hearing man's journey through late middle age: life on the road, becoming a writer, and dealing with times when "one man planned, and God laughed." A somewhat poignant look at getting older, and exploring life's challenges. About the presenter: Judah Leblang is a Boston-based writer, teacher, and storyteller, and the author of two memoirs: Finding My Place (Lake Effect Press, 2012) and Echoes of Jerry (Red Giant Books, 2019). His essays and commentaries have been broadcast on 200 NPR and ABC-radio network stations around the US. He has performed his one-man shows at community centers, temples, and churches in the Northeast, Midwest, and at Fringe Festivals in the US and Canada. He teaches memoir writing at GrubStreet in Boston, at Literary Cleveland, and at the Alexandra Writers' Centre in Calgary, Canada. This monthâs CFCE Grab & Go bag features the fascinating picture book Odd Beasts: Meet Natureâs Weirdest Animals by Laura Gehl. Discover some of the strangest and most wonderful creatures in nature through colorful illustrations and fun facts that will spark curiosity and conversation! Each bag includes a copy of the book (to be checked out from the library) along with a variety of hands-on activities inspired by the story. Families can learn about unusual animal traits, get creative with themed crafts, and enjoy interactive learning at home. We ask that you request only one bag per family. The book must be returned to the library, but you are welcome to keep all other items in the bag. Morrill Memorial Library is excited to announce a unique program about the power of music in dementia.  Title: Music and Memory: The Accidental Creation of a 92-year-old Social Media Sensation Date and Time: Thursday November 6, 2025 at 6:30PM Dr. Lebar will present an inspirational talk about the wild ride she has taken with her mother, pianist Elaine Lebar (born in 1928) who went viral on TikTok in 2020 while living in a memory care unit in Buzzards Bay.  Specifically focusing on the magic and power of music in dementia, the talk features many videos of Elaine, and also includes lessons Randi learned along the way about finding meaning and joy in their relationship, in spite of her motherâs mental decline.   Elaine Lebar began playing piano at the age of 3.  She graduated from the High School of Music and Art in NYC, received a BA in music from Brooklyn College and an MFA in music education from the University of Missouri.  She is an accomplished performer, accompanist and composer.  And now, living with dementia, Elaine has become a TikTok star with over 250,000 followers. The presentation is sure to entertain a wide audience, and it will be especially educational and hopeful for those dealing with a loved one in any stage of cognitive decline. Presenterâs Bio: Randi Lebar graduated from Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences in 1978 with a BA in Chemistry and went on to receive an MD in 1982 from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.  She then served for 11 years in the US Navy, completing her Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Naval Hospital Oakland. After serving as an orthopaedic surgeon in Okinawa, Japan, Dr. Lebar left the Navy and moved to Maine where she continued her orthopaedic practice. Now retired from medicine, Randi lives in Sagamore where she knits, crafts, gardens, and pursues her passion for all forms of dance. This program is free and open to the public. Join us for PVC Baby & Me at the Poirier Village Center, a warm and welcoming CFCE playgroup designed for families with pre-walkers. Led by our beloved CFCE facilitator Ms. Marcia, this group offers a supportive space to connect with other caregivers while your baby explores age-appropriate toys and materials. Each session includes group songs, simple stories, and plenty of time for connection and conversation. Itâs a wonderful way to build community during the early stages of parenthood! Space is limitedâapply today to reserve your spot! Due to high demand, we kindly ask that you commit to attending all scheduled weeks of the session.  This playgroup is registration only and children can only attend one playgroup day of the week per session. Morrill Memorial Library is excited to partner with Norwood-based Lifeworks Inc to bring a series of art classes called Sensory-friendly Art Classes for Adults to the library. The classes will be held weekly on Fridays from 10:30 am to 11:45 am in the Simoni Room. Join the art instructor Stephanie Enloe for Sensory-friendly Art Classes for Adults, a program specially designed for adults with different levels of cognitive abilities. Each week, Ms. Stephanie will guide our participants to create one-of-a-kind art projects, often utilizing recycled/repurposed materials and items found in nature.  Ms. Stephanie says, "I am very excited to be partnering with Lifeworks and the Morrill Memorial Library for this special program and look forward to the friendships, laughs and smiles that will happen along the way." About the instructor: Stephanie Enloe is the owner and founder of Craftyish Shop in Fall River, MA, a shop and community gathering place for all things handmade.  Stephanie has worked as an independent artist and art teacher for approximately twenty years and specializes in working with individuals with special needs. Love doing puzzles? Want to test your speed against others? Come join us for a friendly puzzle face-off against other teams on Saturday November 8, 2025 from 2:30pm - 4pm in the Simoni Room. How does the race work? Up to 8 teams will compete, with a maximum of 4 people per team. Feel free to name your team! Families are welcome to come as a team; children aged 10+ will count as a team member. One puzzle per team. Puzzles will be 500 pieces and design will be identical. Race will kick off at 2:30pm and will end at 4pm. Please plan on arriving by 2:20 pm at the latest, so we can start on time. The team with the most completed puzzle by the end of the race will be the winner, but everyone gets the bragging rights! This program is free and open to all, but please note that the difficulty level of the puzzle design is most suitable for tweens, teens and adults. Please let only one team member register for the whole team. You will be prompted to enter the number of participants in your team. Please do not register each member of your team separately. The third concert in our Fall 2025 series will be renowned artist, Marc Berger, performing songs from his critically acclaimed album, RIDE, on Sunday, November 9 at 3:00pm. Marc's life has been about pursuing twin passions: creating, recording and performing his original songs and exploring remote areas of the American West. Heâs performed at Austin's SXSW Music Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival, opened for Bob Dylan and other national acts, and his song The Last One was a staple of Richie Havens' concerts. RIDE is a collection of songs all having to do with the romance of the West and has received national airplay and been licensed by STARBUCKS for worldwide in-store airplay. At this special concert, Marc will perform songs from the album and share some unforgettable stories about his experiences as an easterner in the mountain and desert West.
