Step back in time to Cottage City, Massachusetts, in the year 1890, where something sinister is afoot in the Sea View House in this up and coming seaside resort town. In this interactive radio play, the cast will set the stage for a crime of Victorian proportions — but the twists, turns, and soundscape will be shaped by you, the audience! It’s a fake mystery with real history!For each of our summer performances, a new “guest detective” will be chosen from the audience to step into the story, making key decisions that alter the course of the investigation. Meanwhile, other audience members will bring the world to life with live sound effects—whether it’s the distant clang of a trolley, the creak of a dock underfoot, or the Steamship horn sending out a warning blast. Will you help solve the mystery, or will the truth slip away into the fog rolling off Vineyard Sound? Join us for a hilarious, one-of-a-kind performance where history, mystery, and humor wash ashore!

Looking for a peaceful place to work, study, or unwind with a good book after hours? Join us for Late Night Library Lounge—a calm, quiet environment where you can make the most of the library’s relaxed atmosphere after closing time. Whether you’re catching up on reading, tackling a project, or working quietly with a small group, the Lounge offers a welcoming setting for focused, independent use. Please note: This is a low volume program —conversations and group work are welcome, but must be kept low-volume and respectful of others. The upstairs of the library will be closed during this time, so there will be no access to public computers or the children’s room. Bring your own device, settle into a cozy corner, and enjoy the library in a whole new light.

Board Game Night

Although this class is geared towards adults, tap is fun for all ages, and a great way to get in touch with rhythm and musicality.   This class is generously funded by the Library Friends of Oak Bluffs.

Creativity, problem solving, spatial reasoning and teamwork are skills your child can learn while playing. Duplos, original size Legos and Magna-tiles will be provided. We also have instructions for Lego designs for those who prefer this kind of play.
