On Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 PM, we welcome chess players of all levels who would like to join the Plymouth Public Library Chess Club to join us at the Main Library. The program is open to adults and students. Chess sets are provided, although please feel free to bring your own chess set if you have one. Space will be reserved for play in the Nook Road study room areas. (Please check with the Reference Desk if you need directions).We are grateful for the guidance which will be provided by Bill Petrillo, an experienced chess instructor, who has taught and led chess educational programs around the country for the USA Chess Federation, and also Jim Pritchard, who has been volunteering his expertise to educate people on chess – the royal game.

The TransAtlantic Piano Duo, with German-born Steinway Artist Evelyn Ulex and Argentinian master Dr. Pablo Lavandera, has been performing in Europe and the Americas in venues such as the Tilles Center, Carnegie Hall, Metropolitain Museum, Stony Brook University in New York, Berlin’s Konzerthaus and Philharmonie, Salzburg and the Colón Theater in Buenos Aires.Their program sheds light on wonderful music from both sides of the Atlantic, both in four hands and solo performances. Their programs are inspired by dance and tango rhythms, from the colorful and energetic music of Astor Piazzolla and his “New Tango” inspired masterpieces, Latin Grammy Winner Argentinean classical composer Claudia Montero, Pablo Ziegler, George Gershwin and Debussy.
