The Sherborn Book Group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 11:00. We meet at the Sherborn Public Library. All are welcome to join the group. June Selection: Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon Maine, 1789: When the Kennebec River freezes, entombing a man in the ice, Martha Ballard is summoned to examine the body and determine cause of death. As a midwife and healer, she is privy to much of what goes on behind closed doors in Hallowell. Her diary is a record of every birth and death, crime and debacle that unfolds in the close-knit community. Months earlier, Martha documented the details of an alleged rape committed by two of the town’s most respected gentlemen—one of whom has now been found dead in the ice. But when a local physician undermines her conclusion, declaring the death to be an accident, Martha is forced to investigate the shocking murder on her own. Over the course of one winter, as the trial nears, and whispers and prejudices mount, Martha doggedly pursues the truth. Summer Reading kicks off with Jungle Jim’s Balloons, Books, Magic – Time to Level Up! Jungle Jim is a seasoned performer who offers a highly interactive experience for kids and families. His dynamic program showcases giant animal creations, whimsical magic tricks and a jaw-dropping 6-foot balloon. Jungle Jim will perform from 3:00 - 3:45pm.  All kids who register will get a free ice cream scoop from T.C. The Friends of the Sherborn Library are excited to bring back the Summer Concert Series to the Sherborn Library lawn. Look forward to a different musical group each week on Wednesdays, June 25, July 9, July 16 and July 23. Rain Date: July 30. Location: Rear Lawn of the library. Boasting a big sound, crisp harmonies and potent brass attack, Group Therapy has built a devoted Metrowest following over the past 10 years. Vocal talent is spread throughout this band of seasoned musicians, 4 of whom sing lead on a given night. Electric, acoustic guitar and keyboards provide the melodic foundation. Congas and timbales add spice to the mix. With these ingredients, Group Therapy covers a wide range of genres and eras, from Woodstock, 70's soul, New Orleans funk, country rock, 80's pop to contemporary hits. The band covers popular, danceable hits from Earth, Wind and Fire, Chicago, Average White Band, and many more. Food Trucks this week: ThankQue BBQ and T.C.
