Chris Hopkin is back with Surrealist Screening Program Cinema Strange! This series, the Other Shore, is focused on contact between worlds as explored within Cinema. On July 30, in Ken Russelâs psychedelic classic Altered States (1980) a professor searches within his own mind for some sort of universal religious truth, only to discover being was in front of him all along. On August 20, in the short films of Takashi Ito, space and time itself are warped to use cinema as a medium of summoning spirits, of conceptualizing a fourth dimension. In MAâs own Winterbeast (1992) sex and violence clash in a dreamy adventure through snowy Concord, full of stop motion monsters and Americaâs long buried ghosts. These LCC Work Sessions are 2 hours long, and designed to jumpstart artists and educators to polish their ideas for the LCC Grant 2026 season, ahead of the October 202 deadline. They are free and open to the public! đ§ What is LCC?
