The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network (FRN) hosts a weekly playgroup on Wednesday mornings at the Tyngsborough Public Library. Join them for our community playgroup where you will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Playgroup is perfect for ages 0-6. Parental participation is encouraged. Ask FRN about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Learn how to make striking and expressive linocut prints! In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of linocut. The class will cover techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing. At their own pace students will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using tools. Students will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand. In a relaxed and welcoming environment students will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with their classmates. This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience. This class is taught by Brooke Lambert. Brooke Lambert is a professional printmaker and painter with a passionate interest and dedication to the arts, teaching, arts organizing and public art initiatives. She grew up and lived in Maine before moving to Boston to pursue her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Since graduating in 2017, Brooke has shown her work widely in New England, New York, and beyond. You can see Brooke’s work in Studio 447 at Western Avenue Studios & Lofts in her current city of Lowell, MA.  This workshop is for adults only. All registrations subject to approval. Tyngsborough residents may register until April 20th. Library card number required to verify residency. Non-residents may be approved starting April 21st, in order of registration.  Brooke is brought to us by the Friends of the Tyngsborough Public Library. Parking available at First Parish Meeting House, 216 Middlesex Road. Snacks provided for guests who register by 9 a.m. Friday May 9 (Goldfish crackers, Swedish fish). Registration is required and spots are limited. Please register for the hold list even if the program is full. We may have no-shows and you will be invited to read to Willow.  Your reservation is for a 15-minute time slot between 3 and 4 p.m. If you have more than one child, up to two may read to Willow at a time. However, if there are no-shows or fewer than four registrations, you get more time with Willow!
