In this four-week, hands-on class, participants will learn how to play American Mah Jongg following the National Mah Jongg League rules.  Please note - registration requires a commitment to attend all four classes (March 25, April 1, April 8, April 15), as each lesson builds on the previous week.   Attendees of the March 11th introduction session will receive early access to register for this instructional series. Instruction will be led by Adrienne Marshall, who has been playing American Mah Jongg for over 13 years. What began as a personal interest quickly grew into a passion for sharing the game with family, friends, and now as an instructor. Adrienne is a member of the Mahj Life Instructor Guild under Michele Frizzell, a recognized Mah Jongg educator, author, and host of a popular YouTube channel with over 50,000 subscribers. The fiction book club here at TPL will be meeting on the last Wednesday of the month throughout 2026. The main goal of the book club is to break you out of your comfort zone, the genre of the book selected alternating frequently, and sometimes reading books around a central theme. We might read a genre you never thought about picking up before! Different outlooks and reading histories will inspire our conversations, reflecting on similar themes and character dynamics that appear in these various settings, writing styles, and genres; embarking us on a journey to explore the vast diversity that is the book world! No registration required. Copies of each title are available at the circulation desk approximately one month before each meeting.
