The Library 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group meets via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30am to 11:30am. Informal networking takes place from 9am to 9:30am and 11:30am to noon. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your "Encore Career," this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking! Join us in a professional forum for networking with peers in a safe and comfortable environment conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition. Each meeting features a new topic. Meetings include a presentation and interactive workshop on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and 1-on-1 coaching guidance. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search. Each biweekly meeting is facilitated by Deborah Hope, MBA, PCIC, an experienced executive career coach. Deborah is a former Fortune 500 executive, investment banker and entrepreneur. She transitioned to executive coaching over 12 years ago. Deborah has coached with Harvard Business School Executive Education programs and the Massachusetts Conference for Women. Are you looking to cultivate a mind that is more peaceful? More capable of navigating challenges with a little more grace and effectiveness? Or to simply be more awake and present in each moment? Interested? Why not try our local Mindfulness group, which has been meeting since the Fall of 2015? It is free, and meets on Zoom on Tuesday evenings 7:00 â 8:15 pm. A typical session will begin with a mindfulness meditation, slightly guided, to be followed by discussion and Q&A, and then a guided introduction to a related mindfulness practice such as kindness, compassion, or gratitude; contemplations for working with physical and emotional pain; and mindful eating exercises. The class is open to those new to mindfulness meditation and also to those with experience. Participants will gain the experience and confidence to cultivate their own personal at-home practice. The program runs on Zoom, and you will have the option of just calling in on a regular phone in which case you can hear our discussion and participate in it verbally (and we can hear you) OR connecting to the meeting via the internet on your computer, laptop, or smart phone â in which case you will be able to see and hear everyone and we can all hear you if you speak (and we can see you if you choose to be visible). If you have never done this, believe me it is not that hard. Over 250 people have participated in our Zoom Mindfulness program. On a typical Tuesday night there will be about 35 â 45 participants. Attendance at all sessions is not required, but momentum will build from week to week. If you are interested, the first step is for you to let me know by sending an email to [email protected], confirming that you would like to be included on the invitation list. If so, I will then send you an email with instructions about how to join the ZOOM meeting either by phone or computer. I look forward to practicing mindfulness with you. ------- Greg Topakian, Ph.D., is a long time educator and actuary. Over the past forty years, he has balanced his professional life with a daily practice of yoga and mindfulness meditation. During that period Greg has participated in several long term retreats to deepen his concentration and awareness. Now in semi-retirement, Greg teaches mindfulness to employees of local colleges, town governments, and corporations across the state. Every Spring and Fall, he offers a multi-week Introduction to Mindfulness at the Westborough Library. Pattycake Babies Storytime takes place every Thursday from 9:30-10:25am & 11:00-11:55am (except when the library is closed or when otherwise noted). A weekly storytime for you and your baby! Join Bernadette for this lap-sit session which includes songs, hand/fingerplays & stories that are just right for pre-walkers. This is a great opportunity for caregivers to share the early literacy experience with their babies! Storytime last for approximately 25 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of unstructured play.  FREE and open to all children ages 0  - 16 months with a caregiver If your baby is over one year and no longer a pre-walker, consider joining us on Tuesdays at either 10:00 or 10:30 am for one of the Rhyme Time Storytime sessions, instead. They'll join toddlers & preschoolers for a more active, movement based storytime.
