Are you looking to cultivate a mind that is more peaceful? More capable of navigating challenges with a little more grace and effectiveness? Or to simply be more awake and present in each moment? Interested? Why not try our local Mindfulness group, which has been meeting since the Fall of 2015? It is free, and meets on Zoom on Tuesday evenings 7:00 â 8:15 pm. A typical session will begin with a mindfulness meditation, slightly guided, to be followed by discussion and Q&A, and then a guided introduction to a related mindfulness practice such as kindness, compassion, or gratitude; contemplations for working with physical and emotional pain; and mindful eating exercises. The class is open to those new to mindfulness meditation and also to those with experience. Participants will gain the experience and confidence to cultivate their own personal at-home practice. The program runs on Zoom, and you will have the option of just calling in on a regular phone in which case you can hear our discussion and participate in it verbally (and we can hear you) OR connecting to the meeting via the internet on your computer, laptop, or smart phone â in which case you will be able to see and hear everyone and we can all hear you if you speak (and we can see you if you choose to be visible). If you have never done this, believe me it is not that hard. Over 250 people have participated in our Zoom Mindfulness program. On a typical Tuesday night there will be about 35 â 45 participants. Attendance at all sessions is not required, but momentum will build from week to week. If you are interested, the first step is for you to let me know by sending an email to [email protected], confirming that you would like to be included on the invitation list. If so, I will then send you an email with instructions about how to join the ZOOM meeting either by phone or computer. I look forward to practicing mindfulness with you. ------- Greg Topakian, Ph.D., is a long time educator and actuary. Over the past forty years, he has balanced his professional life with a daily practice of yoga and mindfulness meditation. During that period Greg has participated in several long term retreats to deepen his concentration and awareness. Now in semi-retirement, Greg teaches mindfulness to employees of local colleges, town governments, and corporations across the state. Every Spring and Fall, he offers a multi-week Introduction to Mindfulness at the Westborough Library. Curious about Mah Jongg? Come learn the basics at this two-part introductory workshop! Session 2: March 18 and March 25 The first class (March 18) will involve an overview of the game. It will include a hands-on understanding of the tiles, and how to use them to create the patterns for playing the game. The week between sessions will give you an opportunity to practice creating the Mah Jongg hands on your own. The second class (March 25) will be completely interactive. You will learn all the mechanics on how to play Mah Jongg and some general strategies to help you get started. Space is limited to 8 spots for âeach class of this two-part introductory workshop. She has more than 20 years of experience working with students with autism from preschool up to age 22 as a teacher, classroom consultant, and evaluator. She has provided professional development training on supporting autistic people to a range of unique audiences including first responders/emergency services personnel and hospital staff and conducts student and program evaluations for schools across New England. Erin is a graduate of Assumption College with a concentration in Social and Rehabilitation Services and has a Masterâs in Special Education from Simmons University. She is a certified special education teacher and Licensed Behavior Analyst in Massachusetts as well as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  About the Facilitators: Micky Roberts is a higher education leader who has spent more than 25 years helping students discover and build on their strengths as they transition to and succeed in college. Most recently, she served as Associate Dean of Student Success at Clark Universityâs Becker School of Design & Technology, where she created programs that empowered students to flourish academically and personally. She previously led student success, advising, accessibility services, and learning support initiatives at Becker College, with a focus on helping students identify the environments and strategies where they thrive. Prior to this, Micky worked for 18 years assisting students at a private 766 approved school in Worcester, MA where she established the individualâs IEP/504 plan, behavior plan, and social- emotional goals to assist students in progressing effectively through elementary, middle-school and high school. She holds a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Social Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. Tracey Graham is the Adult Services Librarian at the Westborough Public Library. She excels at collection development, research, and creating programs for adults. Having worked for public libraries including Newton, Millbury, and Leominster, she has developed a network of experts on a variety of topics, which she is eager to share with the community. Prior her work in libraries, Tracey was an adjunct professor in the History Department of Lasell University. This book is the centerpiece to One Book One Borough 2026 and we invite everyone in the community to read and discuss the book at one of our Book Club sessions. Parents, caregivers, coaches, teachers and anyone with tweens or teens in their life. All are welcome! Language interpretation and onsite childcare is available with registration before 2/24. This Square One Collaboration will take place at the Westborough High School Library on 90 West Main Street. It offers free programming and resources designed to support community education and resilience around substance use and Mental health. Are you looking to cultivate a mind that is more peaceful? More capable of navigating challenges with a little more grace and effectiveness? Or to simply be more awake and present in each moment? Interested? Why not try our local Mindfulness group, which has been meeting since the Fall of 2015? It is free, and meets on Zoom on Tuesday evenings 7:00 â 8:15 pm. A typical session will begin with a mindfulness meditation, slightly guided, to be followed by discussion and Q&A, and then a guided introduction to a related mindfulness practice such as kindness, compassion, or gratitude; contemplations for working with physical and emotional pain; and mindful eating exercises. The class is open to those new to mindfulness meditation and also to those with experience. Participants will gain the experience and confidence to cultivate their own personal at-home practice. The program runs on Zoom, and you will have the option of just calling in on a regular phone in which case you can hear our discussion and participate in it verbally (and we can hear you) OR connecting to the meeting via the internet on your computer, laptop, or smart phone â in which case you will be able to see and hear everyone and we can all hear you if you speak (and we can see you if you choose to be visible). If you have never done this, believe me it is not that hard. Over 250 people have participated in our Zoom Mindfulness program. On a typical Tuesday night there will be about 35 â 45 participants. Attendance at all sessions is not required, but momentum will build from week to week. If you are interested, the first step is for you to let me know by sending an email to [email protected], confirming that you would like to be included on the invitation list. If so, I will then send you an email with instructions about how to join the ZOOM meeting either by phone or computer. I look forward to practicing mindfulness with you. ------- Greg Topakian, Ph.D., is a long time educator and actuary. Over the past forty years, he has balanced his professional life with a daily practice of yoga and mindfulness meditation. During that period Greg has participated in several long term retreats to deepen his concentration and awareness. Now in semi-retirement, Greg teaches mindfulness to employees of local colleges, town governments, and corporations across the state. Every Spring and Fall, he offers a multi-week Introduction to Mindfulness at the Westborough Library. Curious about Mah Jongg? Come learn the basics at this introductory workshop! Weekly on Wednesdays, April 1-22, 2026 The first meeting (April 1) will involve an overview of the game. It will include a hands-on understanding of the tiles, and how to use them to create the patterns for playing the game. The week between sessions will give you an opportunity to practice creating the Mah Jongg hands on your own. The other three meetings (April 8, 15, and 22) will be completely interactive. You will learn all the mechanics on how to play Mah Jongg and some general strategies to help you get started. You will have the chance to circulate and play with others, challenging yourself and applying what you've learned! Please note:  We are asking those who register to attend all four sessions.
