Over three exciting days, young marine scientists will unleash their creativity to design and craft their very own unique plush fish. Imagine a vibrant sea filled with realistic or fantastical fish, all brought to life by our campers' imaginations! Tuesday: Dive into Discovery! We'll kick off our exploration by plunging into the fascinating world of fish! We'll discuss the incredible variety of fish species and the amazing features they possess, from shimmering scales to unique fins. After an inspiring brainstorming session, each camper will sketch the silhouette of their dream fish and transform it into a sturdy stencil. Then, using their stencils, they'll carefully outline their creature's shape onto two layers of soft fabric, ready to bring their vision to life. Wednesday: Stitch, Stuff, and Sparkle! Today, we'll learn the simple techniques of stitching (5-7 years old will use fabric glue for a no-sew option) to join the fabric layers and then fill our fish with fluffy stuffing, giving them a cuddly form. The Ludington Area Center for the Arts’ (LACA) Wednesday, Aug. 20 LACA Summer Concert Series will feature a performance by Greg Nagy Band. A mix of jazz, blues, rock, pop and R&B performers will make up the 2025 LACA Summer Concert Series every Wednesday evening, June 18 through Sept. 3, in downtown Ludington’s Waterfront Park. Hosted by the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) these FREE concerts bring world class music to community members and the many visitors of our great area in a family friendly environment. While the concerts are FREE to attend and open to the public, putting on this series is not free to the art center. LACA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on monetary donations to help fund its events and programs. Donations for the concert series are collected on-site during each concert. Donations can also be made online at https://www.ludingtonartscenter.org/donate.
