Relax and Restore with this gentle, stress relieving yoga practice. Create harmony and balance of body and mind through physical postures, breathing techniques and an extended guided relaxation at the end of class. Suitable for most fitness and experience levels. Modifications are offered for both dialing back and going deeper into your practice. This class is a perfect introduction to yoga.About the Instructor:Andrea Astley Dinsdale is a RYT Certified Yoga Instructor who has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. In addition to the Dexter District Library, she teaches with Dexter and Chelsea Adult Community Education, as well as Verapose Yoga. Andrea is also a Certified Clinical Reflexologist and sees clients in the Dexter area. Her main areas of focus are building and maintaining mental and physical balance, strength and flexibility through a lens of self-care for stress relief and optimal wellness.Yoga classes will be onsite in the Library’s lower-level meeting room.  Classes are for adults (18+). Registration is mandatory for each class.  Space is limited. Makerspace

This is a fun, drop-In program for grades K through 8.  Make, build, craft and explore.  Participate in a variety of open-ended activities.  We supply the materials and you supply the imagination. Registration is not required.

  The American Revolution and the Fate of the World is a sweeping story about the global actors and global dimensions of the American Revolution.  Join historian and author Richard Bell for a reconsideration of the American Revolution, exploring the global impacts of the war for independence, a seismic global event that redrew maps and toppled hierarchies across six continents. Through the stories of the diverse people displaced, empowered, or destroyed by the war, Bell offers a bold new framework for understanding the Revolution as a complex, international struggle.About the Presenter:Richard Bell is Professor of History at the University of Maryland and author of the book Stolen: Five Free Boys Kidnapped into Slavery and their Astonishing Odyssey Home which was a finalist for the George Washington Prize and the Harriet Tubman Prize. He has held major research fellowships at Yale, Cambridge, and the Library of Congress and is the recipient of the National Endowment of the Humanities Public Scholar award and the Andrew Carnegie Fellowship.
