Step back in time and experience the “Dog Days of Summer” as they were in the 1930s! Join us for a hands-on, family-friendly day at the Scolnik House of the Depression Era from 11 AM to 3 PM. Discover how families kept cool and carried on during the hottest days of summer in the 1930s through interactive crafts, live demonstrations, and engaging activities for all ages. Try your hand at wash tub laundry, sewing cards, gardening, darning, and more! Admission to the Scolnik House is just $5 per person, with children 0-2 years old free. We can’t wait to explore history with you! When you arrive, check in at the City Barn (carriage house) behind the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. 7/10, 7/19, 7/24, 8/14, 8/16, 8/28 You are invited to join a special Play and Learn program at the Lakeshore Museum Center on the second and fourth Thursday, as well as the third Saturday of each month. “Little Learners” is a free literacy-based program for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0-4. During this program participants will be invited to join us for story time and free play with themed activities. Registration via Zeffy is required but there is no charge for this program. All attendees must register including caregivers & siblings. This program will run for 50-60 minutes, 15-20 for an organized storytime, and the rest for free play and a craft. During this program adults and children will have fun learning through songs, stories, sensory stations, motor skills stations, art and more! We will spend some time outside weather permitting. Our theme for this summer will be:Water Note-For our water theme we welcome bathing suits and water shoes as some of our activities might cause our little learners to get wet.
