First annual WaterDog Open, hoping to be the largest Kayak bass fishing tournament to West Michigan. Two amazing fisheries, one amazing event. In collaboration with Topwater Nation and the Topwater Series, this will be one of the largest events in the Midwest.Event Details:Saturday May 31st (Time TBD)Thru Sunday June 1st (Time TBD)Location: White Lake ( West Michigan /Whitehall) AND Muskegon Lake (Muskegon)Buy-In: $150 Per Angler. $6000 guaranteed to first place with 100 anglers. Payouts to the top 10%. Check-in party Saturday night located at WaterDog Outfitters. Additional prizes available at weigh-in on Sunday.Tournament Details:This is a dual watershed tournament involving the watersheds of Muskegon Lake and White Lake. The attached rivers of each are also included and available to fish. The caveat is, if you fish one body of water on Saturday, you need to fish the opposite on Sunday.Example: For instance, if you fish the White Lake watershed (White Lake or White River) on Saturday, you must fish the Muskegon Lake watershed on Sunday.Fish Limits: This is a 10 fish limit tournament, BEST 5 FISH EACH DAY.

The West Michigan Junior Strings Spring Recital will be presented on Saturday, May 31, at 2:30PM at the White Lake Methodist Church (8555 Cook St—corner of Cook & Hancock). Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Since 2009, WMJS has offered string instruction to students ages 3 to 18, using a creative blend of the Suzuki Method and traditional string pedagogy. This program, that once served students all over West Michigan in four counties (Mason, Muskegon, Oceana and Ottawa), is now being revitalized and resurrected from the effects of Covid! Under the instruction of Becky Parks, this recital will showcase student progress, featuring solo performances and group pieces by these budding, young musicians. The West Michigan Junior Strings is a program of the White Lake Music Society, offering private study, group classes, and recitals. For more information, please call 231-329-3056

We are offering Hike the Lights to give you more time to get outside and enjoy the trails after dark!Hike the Lights is a free event, where we turn our ski trail lights on from sunset until 10pm, every night of the week. At Muskegon Luge we have over 4 miles of lighted ski/hiking trails ranging from beginner, accessible trails to intermediate with large hills. A headlamp might be helpful on longer, dark sections of trails.Dogs are welcome too! We love your four legged friends, and just ask that you keep them on a 6 ft. lead and pick up after them.
