The White Lake Area Climate Action Council presents their first Walk It, Bike It 2026 challenge, sponsored by WaterDog Outfitters! Did you know that 60% of car trips are under six miles? Walk it or bike it with us instead and save gas, reduce pollution, improve health, participate to win prizes, and possibly earn the top prize, a Hudson-Jamis Bike! Challenge runs April 22-August 31. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, Dare to Dream JR.features songs appearing for the first time ever in a Disney stage musical, including fan-favorites from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II. This musical revue is a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages. Designed specifically for todayâs young performers and full of opportunities for ensembles big and small, Dare to Dream JR. turns a century of Disney magic into a theatrical celebration of music, creativity, and the dreams that live inside us all. Students will have the chance to choose a special interest track of technical theatre if they prefer, learning about sound and lighting operation, stagehand support backstage, makeup and costuming. In this two-day class, students will learn about three specific artist âtechniquesâ or styles: Cubism, Impressionism, and Surrealism. There will be a brief history and discussion about a few famous artists and their style as well as time to view a few of their works to inspire your own. Students will apply their newfound knowledge by creating their own piece of art, featuring a character of your choosing. Ages 8-12. About the Instructor:Kanda Parrott is a fairly new artist to the White Lake area. Her art is currently at the Arts Council of White Lake, exhibited in downtown Muskegon, and retailed internationally. Kanda works in ballpoint pen, pencils, and paints and her work predominately features the beauty of nature juxtaposed with the human condition and is often full of color and playful⌠with a touch of the creeps.

Spend the evening discovering how rocks, fossils, and minerals can reveal stories about our region and the natural world. Youâll learn about local rock hunting and beachcombing along the Great Lakes, see examples of fascinating finds, and hear how collectors uncover and interpret what they discover. Youâll also learn about the White River Rock Club and how you can get involved if youâre interested in exploring this hobby further.
