After more than a decade away, one of the White Lake Areaâs favorite summer events is making a return. This festival, which began in 1981, has not happened since 2012, and weâre excited to bring it back! Running from August 6â8, 2026, this three-day celebration will honor the areaâs strong maritime ties, while creating new memories for families, friends, and visitors alike.  The White Lake Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau will continue to organize this festival alongside the support and participation of many local businesses and organizations. The White Lake Area Climate Action Council presents their first Walk It, Bike It 2026 challenge, sponsored by WaterDog Outfitters! Did you know that 60% of car trips are under six miles? Walk it or bike it with us instead and save gas, reduce pollution, improve health, participate to win prizes, and possibly earn the top prize, a Hudson-Jamis Bike! Challenge runs April 22-August 31. From August 6-8, 2026, you can enjoy FREE tower climbs and admission to the light station museum during White Lake Maritime Days. Come enjoy a piece of history with epic views of the White Lake, Lake Michigan, and the channel connecting them from the top of the light tower. The light station will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on these days. We welcome all children to a free kidsâ activity book when you visit to enhance their experience and encourage learning for all ages. No RSVP is required for this family-friendly weekend. Self-guided tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Lakeshore Keepers thanks the Lois M.
