This practice is designed to meet students where they are and offer the same benefits as traditional yoga including increased strength and flexibility while reducing stress and promoting a calm, clear mind. All levels and abilities are welcome! Chair yoga is ideal for individuals who need support for balance and safety, those recovering from illness or injury and others challenged with joint mobility. It is also beneficial to anyone not affected by physical challenges and interested in learning new ways to increase range of motion, practicing breath work for improved endurance and meditation for peace of mind. Additionally, this is a great form of yoga for beginners because it offers a safe way to learn the poses and postures. Suggested class donation $5 or free to Silver Sneaker participants.A yoga practitioner since 2005, Rhonda Aley completed the Sivananda Yoga Teacher training program to receive her RYT 200 Yoga Alliance Certification in 2013 and, without delay, embraced teaching a variety of classes. In 2016, she expanded her expertise by acquiring certifications in The Art of Assisting and Adjusting as well as Chair Yoga - a practice aimed at making yoga accessible to all.Rhondaâs extensive teaching hours and ongoing experience have elevated her Yoga Alliance Certification to the higher level of E-RYT200. Her spectrum of classes includes Beginners/Basic, Gentle, Mellow Vinyasa, Pre-Natal, Restorative, Yin, and Accessible Chair yoga. She believes in the inclusivity of yoga, advocating its benefits for individuals of all physical abilities and feels honored to share classic poses, philosophies, breathing techniques and relaxation methods to foster holistic wellness.

Youâre invited to attend White Lake Community Libraryâs cookbook club on on the 2nd Monday of each month, 5:30-7pm. This is a book club for readers who enjoy spending time in the kitchen. For this meeting, choose a recipe within the monthly theme to prepare and share.......More

Youâre invited to attend White Lake Community Libraryâs cookbook club on on the 2nd Monday of each month, 5:30-7pm. This is a book club for readers who enjoy spending time in the kitchen. For this meeting, choose a recipe within the monthly theme to prepare and share. Each month's theme can be found on the library's website. Please bring a copy of the recipe including a list of ingredients (including any substitutions). At the meeting, participants will discuss the cookbooks, dishes, cooking techniques, and sample each otherâs dishes. You may also want to bring a dish with lid for leftover samples. Please bring your own table service, if possible. Also, if your dish requires any special serving tools or equipment, please provide them. We cannot warm up foods in the library, so bring your dish ready to serve. Food served at this program will be prepared in home kitchens. Participation in programs involving food is at your own risk; White Lake Community Library cannot guarantee that food served at this program has not come into contact with tree nuts, soy, or any other allergens. Accordingly, the library will not be liable for such harm to any individual resulting from such allergens.
