Selected 8th grade WEB Leaders will be mentoring and supporting our incoming 6th grade students as they transition into middle school.As part of this commitment, there are a couple of mandatory dates in the summer we ask our WEB leaders to attend. In fact, we can't make these summer dates successful without them! If your student has a conflict and will not be able to attend, please let me know. It is essential to be at both dates in order to be a WEB leader. WEB Leader Training- Monday, August 24th, 2026 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm This will be held at Chaska Middle School East. (Please bring a snack, drink, and wear comfortable clothing) 6th Grade WEB Orientation- Tuesday, August 25th, 2026 12:30 pm- 3:00 pm This will be held at CMSE (WEB Leaders are welcome to stay after for our Back to School Open House and get their schedule, pictures, etc.). Open House will run from 5:00 - 7:00 pm for 7th and 8th grade students.

Tuesday, August 25th - Where Everyone Belongs (WEB) / Back to School Open House The WEB Orientation is led by our 8th Grade WEB Leaders and designed to welcome and support your child as they make the transition to middle school. Students will participate in team building activities, get a tour of the school, meet new 6th grade students, and reconnect with their current friends! Please plan to drop off your student at 1:00 p.m. They will participate in the program and receive their schedules and lockers at the end of WEB orientation. Parents/ guardians can meet their child in the CMSE commons at 3:00 pm to attend our Back to School Open House. We are encouraging all 6th grade families to be at East between 3:00 - 4:30 pm . Open House for 7th and 8th grade is from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and it will be busy during this time.

Come to Chaska Middle School East for our Back to School Open House on Tuesday, August 25th. Families will have an opportunity to receive their student schedule, get their picture taken, drop off school supplies, meet with nutrition services, and school nurse with any questions. Students can find their locker, and walk their schedules. Students will not receive their chromebooks until the first week of school. 6TH GRADE STUDENT OPEN HOUSE - 3:00 to 4:30 PM Families can join their student after WEB orientation at 3:00 pm and attend our Back to School Open House. 7TH & 8TH GRADE STUDENT OPEN HOUSE - 5:00 to 7:00 PM We are encouraging all 7th & 8th grade families to be at East at these times to avoid longer lines for 6th grade families coming earlier. NEW TO DISTRICT 7TH & 8TH GRADE WELCOME GATHERING - 3:30 to 4:30 PM New to district students will receive their chromebooks. Please plan to attend the open house in the commons after the gathering.

School Picture Day

School Picture Day - Wednesday. Sept. 10th All students will have another opportunity to get their school picture taken on this day. Any packages ordered will be delivered to your home.Picture retake day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th.

Curriculum Night - Thursday, September 10th 5:45 - 7:45 pm. This night is an informational opportunity for parents to follow their student's schedule, meet the teachers, receive a brief overview of the curriculum, and hear about some of the expectations and protocols surrounding each class. We kindly ask you to arrive by 5:45 pm to make sure you get to your student's first period on time. This night is designed for parents to attend.

8th Grade Class Picture - Wed. Sept. 30th. 8th grade students will be taking their class picture on Wednesday, Sept. 30th during advisory. Families can order online, more info to follow.

East will host a school-wide celebration in support of our high school homecomings on Friday, October 9th from 2:00 - 3:30 pm We will run a different schedule for this day.
