Have you ever wondered what bird banding is all about?  Bird Banding records can help us learn how long birds live, where they travel, when and where they migrate and many other interesting facts.  Carpenter Nature Center has been banding birds for over 30 years.  On the fourth Friday of the month bird banding is open to the public.  There is no program fee, but donations of Bird Seed and Suet are greatly appreciated. RSVP appreciated.

Each fall, thousands of raptors and other birds fly south to their wintering grounds in the southern U.S. and beyond. Our friendly team of spotters will be counting migrants including raptors, songbirds, gulls, and other southbound birds. Come ask questions, check in on the count totals, or participate in the count. Binoculars available upon request.

The debate will be moderated by Hastings Chamber of Commerce President Kristy Barse and Shakopee Chamber of Commerce President Tim Zunker and hosted at Dakota County Technical College.
