Ages 4 and up and families. Enjoy a bilingual Toy theater puppet show in English and Spanish, "Martina the Cockroach and Perez the Mouse," from puppeteers Julie and Gustavo Boada. The popular folktale from Cuba and Puerto Rico tells the story of Martina the Cockroach and Perez the Mouse who meet as dance partners, marry and live a happy life while learning from the ups and downs of life. After the performance, create a puppet with ArtStart teaching artists Kallie Melvin and Tara Fahey to use in your own imaginative storytelling at home. Collaborator: ArtStart. This program is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Part of a six-part artist residency with teaching artists Kallie Melvin and Tara Fahey. Registration for some events may be required.
